Norway - I think the basic way you and me think about anything health related are so vastly different, its hard for each of us to comprehend the others mindset.
It is most likely solely for the name sake, as the former marathon runner Grete Waitz has had a run called the Grete Waitz Run around the same time every year.
Bar crawls are not uncommon here either, it's just that the Tom Waitz one here is a specific, annual event that happens in most larger cities in the same day.
Like the artist, not unknown for liking alcohol.
We have lots of annual runs named after famous people, so it is a similarity to the known, but a drinking event rather than a sporty one.
Just hit me how weird it might seem, hence I had to ask if it's a thing elsewhere.
It is the only thing we pay for healthcare wise, unless it's teeth or eyes, that is privatised.
We have started a decline that should be more warning than inspiration.
Ignorant Norwegian here, but that sounds extremely good for US standards, happy for you for that.
Out of curiosity, how much is paid monthly for that? And what would a broken leg and an ambulance to the hospital cost?
That's less than half of the current prices in Norway, harvest while you can!
