Formerly Keegen on Kbin.social(RIP), this is my Lemmy account.

  • New outfits! Subaru finally let his poor wrecked tracksuit go for something more befitting a desert adventure, meanwhile Emilia literally switched into a skin-tight spandex with a cloak. I love the character arc Julius and Subaru had, from a bitter rival that humiliates and humbles you (which Subaru very much needed back then) to a diehard friend, "...the only man who knows me as well as I know myself". Subaru's first death this season was so fast he didn't even have a chance to process he died, got sniped with a magical projectile from the stratosphere Fern-style. The second death makes up for it plenty though, Patrasche once again cementing she is indeed best girl as she heroically sacrifices herself to try and stop her master from dying - all in vein as poor Beako breaks down over loosing her first source of comfort and companionship in 400 years after barely a year spend together. What a strong start to the season, and with 17 episodes left I'm very excited for what's coming!

  • I like Dark Souls 2's mixed system the most (I'm one of the 5 weirdos who actually enjoys that game the most out of the Souls trilogy). You start off with a very limited Estus count but can supplement it with consumable Lifegems and healing miracles (makes especially those feel so much more valuable). I liked DS2's approach to consumables the most in general, they were powerful and pretty useful for all kinds of builds but never necessary, it added that extra RPG element to the game of using consumables to help you overcome some of the harder moments while still letting you win through sheer skill if you choose.

  • My favourite isekai is back! In a classic Re:zero fashion they're skipping the OP and ED to maximise the amount of content (wonder how many times we will get to hear them in total this season). Not gonna lie, I completely forgot who Meili is and had to look her up. Think it's about time I rewatch the earlier seasons, time has devoured some of my memories of this show as successfully as Gluttony themselves.

  • My picks for Spring are extremely bland, I'm watching number 1 and 2 most popular AniList shows. I would watch number 3 as well but I'm a light novel reader for that one and I've already skipped over the previous season. I've been pretty lean overall when it comes to recently airing shows (only watched Frieren from Winter 2026) but it's given me a much needed opportunity to chip away at my long abandoned backlog.

  • Not really surprising, they outsourced content creation to the community while pocketing a hefty cut from every transactions - free money with no effort involved, of course they don't plan to stop it! My expectations for Elder Scrolls 6 were already rock bottom low and confirming that it absolutely will have Creation Club doesn't help to raise the floor any higher.

  • I gotta give a shout-out to Scary Game Squad on Jesse Cox's channel, they are my favourite when it comes to horror games. It's a good old let's play too, so no chat to worry about!

  • Steam has the Early Access section on the product page for a reason:

  • The long awaited dragon meeting is almost here! I guess meeting with her father and her first dragon at the same time was a bit too much for Ruri so they went for the halfway option.

  • I interpreted that as just him being really mad internally but not really showing it externally, he appears all calm and distant but inside he's raring to kill the demon that destroyed his hometown and killed his friends. He let some of that rage leak thinking the demons came back and Frieren picked up on it.

  • You know Frieren was totally flexing with that ore finding spell, the entire floating and conjuring a galaxy inside of the cave was absolutely just for show.

  • I've been reading this manga for a while and while I don't think I'll be watching this adaptation I can definitely say the source is good. While the girls are definitely great it's Arisu that carries the show, you can't really have a harem manga without the protagonist being interesting (or rather, you can but it leads to an incredibly bland/boring self-insert type stories). He's stuck up, slightly unhinged and supremely confident but also has an incredibly strong drive and deeply cares about the things he's committed to. Also, the fact that the people around him call him out on his ridiculousness instead of just accepting it. I'll take an MC that's unlikable but with redeeming qualities that you grow endeared towards over a bland cardboard cut-out any day.

  • Reminder: we've got an anime announcement - by KyoAni themselves, no less!

Ruri continues to get the short end of the stick with these dragon powers. Horns? Cool, but useless. Scales? Her AC is now 13, big deal! Give this poor girl the wings she deserves! Being able to fly places would be both AWESOME and convenient in her everyday life!

  • My darling manga that could! After years of hiatus and almost giving up hope of ever seeing it again, not only did we get an unexpected return but now it even gets an anime adaptation - by KyotoAni no less!

  • I think you perfectly put into words why I don't enjoy watching adaptations of manga/LNs that I've read. Baring some exceptions, I always feel like the adaptation doesn't really add much compared to the source material and in many cases it detracts from it, skipping scenes for the sake of pacing or just being badly animated because of budget/timing constrains.

  • I might not be using GNOME any more but there is one design philosophy it pushed that stuck with me and I employ it now on all other DEs - fuck desktop icons! They lead to nothing but clutter, much better to have all of your folders neatly organised inside of your /home than plastered all across your desktop space.
