  • As of AV software I would like to point to ClamAV and Rkhunter. Both should be available in most distro's package repository.

  • Why not just Wilber? Just like the mascot.

  • Remove the store app and replace it with a daemon which does the updates in background.

  • I had to look it up how to choose FS type. This doesn't make it "user friendly".Maybe the basic workflow of basic installation is better than the older one under some aspects, like having it one step after another, rather than the older having a bunch of buttons to change stuff. Also, to make partitions, it's no more possible through the installer itself. You need to use an external program (eg. Gnome Disks or Gparted).

    For me it's a regression.

Edit: I like how people downvote without arguing. Does this make my statements less true?

  • New Fedora installer is crap. To use ext4 you must go long ways for no reason at all, by opening a hidden menu.

  • By not having Google Play Services, isn't this prevented?

  • If you turn off notification history on Android, should be enough to avoid such "attacks". Hiding sensitive content inside notifications only hides it in the lock screen. If your OS keeps a clear log of them, it's useless.

Edit: didn't know Signal actually has settings to hide their own notifications. I was thinking about Android's "hide sensitive content" setting.

  • Nintendo isn't involved

  • There are already 2 Gulf Wars

  • Worst timing for sure

  • Still better than Discord, I guess

  • Gecko is the browser engine developed by Mozilla and used by Firefox.

It's better for adblockers, since Google blocked access to features used by them in chromium. For a performance comparison check this out. From a security point of view, Blink/Chromium got more people working on it (Google, Microsoft, community, etc.) so potential vulnerabilities get fixed faster but by being way more popular, way more vulnerabilities are found regularly and exploited in the wild.

  • It's android, Fennec for gecko or Vanadium for chromium

  • If I'm not wrong the default shortcut to cycle between app's windows is Alt + the_key_above_tab.Currently I'm not in front of my computer, afterwards I'll check shortcut name and tell you.

Edit:Inside Settings > Keyboard > Customize Shortcuts, there are:

    • Switch applications
    • Switch windows
    • Switch windows of an application
  • the ability to separate switch between programs and their windows

    What do you mean?

Anyway, Ubuntu no longer uses Unity, it's just Gnome with extensions. There's still community effort put into Unity and there's an Ubuntu Unity distro.

  • And they're also giving away stuff for free to kids to learn computing

  • Ageless Linux is important because they're doing activism. They say they want to distribute devices made to not follow Californian law for free to kids. That's why it's important, not just because it's a distro. As a distro is near to useless.

I know this is mostly a meme, but I think it's important to clarify this.
