  • Isn't that just todo.txt-formatting with its "@" associations and "+" project tags?

  • Isn't that called a to-do list?

  • Joke's on Google; I've avoided Chrome for quite a while now.

  • Wait, people thought that leaf patterns were not networks?

  • Yeah, I just found the Fediverse so legitimately confusing at first and I can totally sympathize with people who want to leave Reddit but just can't easily grasp how this works. I wonder how the instances will react to the forced identity-tracking wave, as an aside...

  • So, what else is new?

  • This, or, "It's got incredible potential but is held back by a few ridiculous factors/one forced play style," are what all led me to eventually just stop buying games...

  • Sorry, but you'll have to go back to cryosleep. One of our descendants will get back to you.

  • I'm shocked that you're both expressing the same view, yet have opposite comment scores, haha.

  • Oh and oh. *Paid, by the way (even though I think that's a unique spelling in English anyway... which is dumb).

  • Ha, fair. I'm always reading usernames (since some of them can be clever), instances, and communities.

  • Huh, ironically, I left Summit partly because I found its search system to be too obtuse and it had some pretty bad account-switching problems as well, even though it sure has a lot of capabilities. Theming the apps helps, though ultimately it boils down to reading the domain names of the instances (and usernames) since I'm always curious about the sources of content. I even set Thunder for Lemmy (which also seems to have a very robust draft system in the event of app crashes) to show "@" in front of usernames and "!" in front of communities to drill it home since that formatting is different from Reddit, so I see it all over the place.

If FOSS matters to you, consider Slide for Reddit! Otherwise, Relay looks decent... I'm surprised it was able to get past that API restriction drama that Reddit's leadership imposed...

  • Could you define "worse?" Like, do you mean the actual denizens of that community, or something about PieFed?

consider having at least a backup Lemmy account on a different instance.

Each account of mine has no instance nor username in common, lol. I just treat them all evenly, swapping between /all and subscriptions (no modding... yet...). I had ones even on Lemmy. One and kbin.social which both died. That sucks that your Mastodon account was lost; hopefully you didn't lose too much stuff or something.

Shoot, that reminds me of my own Mastodon account... Man, I haven't checked that in so long. I keep going back to FB since its groups are still perhaps the fastest way to build up actual, in-person community in my area...

  • Wait, you... didn't know this wasn't Reddit, despite all the different instance domains in every person's comment? Do you use some kind of fusion Reddit+Lemmy app or something? This is really interesting to me, how that was even possible to happen.

  • The first one there is a shaking emoji. Perhaps it could be used in response to an earthshaking news or something. I'm sure you could run searches of all of these and get the exact text descriptions from the official, global emoji standard.

... and then report back to us, lol!

  • A place for confessions @lemmy.ml

I unintentionally made several Lemmy accounts through which I now intentionally rotate

  • Ever tried mustard?

  • That needs no... *thinks of the Zuck*

Well, hmm, you're right: maybe that does need anthropomorphization after all.
