  • Digital Circus has improved so much since Episode 4, the latest release at the time of this pilot. Gaslight's pilot is already so good, I can't wait to see how all of those improvements (the lighting!!) apply here. I really like Gaslight's almost claymation style and Mel is such a goober (fitting for the same VA as Cyn), this is going to be a fun series!

  • Oh god I am so not ready for this >.<

Excited that Glitch has made it into theaters though! But also those two weeks are going to be hellish. Makes sense that the theaters were the ones pushing for that gap. Hopefully setting a precedent at 2 weeks now will make it easier for future productions to get to 1 week in the future

Disappearing Guy sings "The One Who's Running the Show"

  • Caine and Bubble seem to be interlinked too close for that. Obviously the whole sharing a tongue thing (oh god that metaphor hits so much harder after this episode) but also -- both Caine and Bubble were missing from the end credits, which seem to suggest that both are dead

But then, who was Kinger fighting, trying to encourage him to kill Caine? Was Bubble willing to accept his own death as release from Caine's control. Did Bubble just not know? Or is Bubble not the blue dot, and the real "Abel" is still out there, finally ready to reveal themselves? Perhaps deleting only Caine and not Bubble from the credits would have been too obvious, but Bubble will still be coming back next episode?

Its weird. Every other episode I had some idea of what might come next. Wasn't always the right idea, but at least it was something. Now? I'm at a loss for what could possibly come next.

  • Why did Jax leave the cafe while Kinger was talking?

Him freaking out "it's real" plus seeing the flashes before pressing the button last episode makes me think he's running/hiding from something that happened in the real world. And now his facade is finally broken, it finally hit him that whatever that was really did happen

Scratch created the Caine with a known brain tumor. Gangle has a recurring motif of getting hit by a truck. I wonder if the primary purpose of the project that eventually became the Circus was to let dying people live on, with others like Kinger/Queenie able to """visit""" as guests. Ragatha was physically abused by her mother, maybe she went a step too far? Not sure how Zooble or Pomni would fit into that idea

For Jax, he saw the flashes driving at night through a residential/wooded area. Maybe an animal jumped out and went through his windshield, badly injuring him, now he's panicking realizing he's truly dying? Or it was a person and he's hiding from the consequences/trauma? (I dont think it would've been Gangle, that would be so incredibly fucked up if it was, to kill someone with your car and then follow them into the afterlife to keep torturing them...)

  • The concept for this and a lot of the other comics now (every one with these clothes) is from the recently-announced official Owl House comic "The Long Lived King". More details here: https://lemmy.zip/post/59013021

  • I've made a severe and continuous lapse in my posting, and I don't expect to be forgiven, I'm simply here to apologize. Don't worry, I will do it again. Though I'll at least try to catch up to present day before disappearing again. Hopefully. No promises.

Anyway, in case you missed it, the concept for this and many of the upcoming comics is from the recently-announced official Owl House comic "The Long Lived King". More details here: https://lemmy.zip/post/59013021

  • Hooooboy... this is a mess! Are those the shadows of Ribbit and Kaufmo behind Jax's cup of hot cocoa? Is that Queenie hovering over Kinger's shoulder? That fire hydrant at the couches was there before, but now I'm wondering if that's for Scratch, the dog character? Are we seeing flashbacks or is abstraction not as permanent as it seems?

And of all characters to play the Truman Show card with (thumbnail), Caine is quite the choice!

  • I AM SO EXCITED! With everything that went down between Dana and Disney, and the former now moving on to Knights of Guinevere (which just got the full season btw!), I was sure we weren't ever going to be getting any more official Owl House content. I really like the style and all of their designs on the cover

  • So excited! I expect we'll probably get a video trailer of the announcement by this week
