  • Mensinator is a "gets the job done" sort of app. The notifications don't really work for me though, which is a bummer.

  • Ding Ding Ding Ding

“Qualcomm and MediaTek both provide open platforms so OpenAI could build anything from a Linux foundation, but it’s more likely they use Android. Android already provides you the telephony stack, networking, and low-level drivers for cameras and audio. It would be needless over-engineering to use an alternative.”

  • Trying desperately to recall AP English classes to remember which poet was particularly renowned for doing unusual spacing and alignment in poems like this. Hemmingway?

  • This specific joke format is one of my favorites.

  • Same hat. The stuff I gleaned pointed to both of them growing up abused though so like.. I understand why they don't want to share that with me.

  • It feels a bit alarming but the article says the teams are "very small." I'm not sure how small, but if it's like 50 people total spread out in 3-4 man teams, and assuming they aren't sinking money into physical workspaces, that isn't so bad. We just don't have enough information to really know what this means fiscally, I'm afraid.

  • Suddenly reminded of an article I saw from like... TEN years ago talking about anti-surveillance makeup and haircuts. It was just like painting block shapes in multiple colors on your face haha.

  • My thoughts were that now they can ID people tagged as "dissenters" to widen the net.

  • I also find it strange that they don't have anything to show to the public, like, at all. Not of the new game or the remaster. Also makes me nervous.

  • While I don't entirely disagree, I also think the amount may be a bit more than you think. Just to go off of the backlash Discord faced forcing them to wait a few months in hopes nobody will care later. If absolutely nobody was against it for them, they wouldn't have bothered with even that much. Then again, that's PC vs Console, so I'm not sure if the demographics would be drastically different.

  • It's kind of sad in hindsight. I remember around 8-10 years ago or so a conversation about unionization amongst programmers came up and almost universally the response was "lol why would I ever unionize? Just hop companies."

    Welp.

  • Really enjoying Kvaesitso!

  • Hopping on this helpful and informative post to add my own tidbit: If you find you get loose eyelashes in your eyes a lot, or that they seem to curl inward and poke your eye a lot, see your optometrist about the possibility of blepharitis--a chronic inflammation of the eyelids. It's a lifelong condition, no cure, but there is a pretty simple daily treatment and hopping on it will drastically improve your quality of life. I used to think it was normal to constantly want to rub your eyes because they itched--surprise! It's not.

  • Self-Hosting isn't really a thing yet. You theoretically can do it, but it's really hard. The team has been working on a code refractor and they intend to release proper self-hosting docs with it since it should be built with easier self-hosting in mind. They've also made progress on their mobile app; the screenshots looked quite nice. No ETA though on either thing, though.

  • Aww you have a hotrod edition standard issue as well! Rye's a great name. I looove when they do that "curl all your paws, cross your legs" back rolling pose.
