  • How did it turn out compared to the pilot? It looked like there were art and voice changes and never had a chance to watch it.

  • So here’s the stupid thing, which I know I’m indirectly answering.

The WHCD was always a third party hosted event l, that they just happened to invite the president to. It was put on by all of the news agencies that oversee the white house press. How will making a ballroom change that?

Or, and here’s where I answer my own question, are they expecting that any event that invites or includes the president has to be held at the Epstein Ballroom? Which means of course the WH will collect rental fees, oh and you’ll have to use their caterers, which they’ll take a cut of. Oh and also their security.

And then going forward, he’ll never attend any event outside of the White House for grifting safety reasons.

  • If you hadn’t played past chapter 2, that would explain a lot of your view. Maybe chapter 3. But finish the game and then get back to us and tell us your views then.

  • “You’re coming to someone’s wedding…”

Yeah maybe if you post it in the Linux communities that makes sense, but I see this in almost every community on Lemmy. I’m sorry but they don’t own the Fediverse and shouldn’t be dictating it. To that end, they are very toxic.

  • Except if you mention anything positive about Windows, or ask a question about it. Then they become hateful and petty.

  • Don’t know, but I do know it’ll cost another few billion dollars.

  • Who are we to know the mating positions of Betazoids.

  • Last picture could have also been Troi

  • This is something I keep asking and can’t get a good answer for. You see some of the ads as “your $20 per month gets you $300 in tokens!” But that’s not sustainable unless it’s being subsidized by low use people.

But then for that matter, what does the value of a token mean? Is it the amount of money you would save as compared to having a human work? That doesn’t help the company providing the service.

Or maybe is supposed to cover the price of the compute to execute the query. That would be ideal, but I don’t think that value is correct.

I really think it’s “the first hit is free” approach and soon they’re going to start jacking prices up. I believe all of them are operating as loss leaders, just to try to get market share and even this few initial price increases are showing how much they’re bleeding money.

  • “Imagined” yet after all the book art and movie she never bothered to correct anyone? I smell some retconning BS there.

  • Yeah figured it wasn’t hypothetical, but holy fuck people… do they not realize that all you have to do is change “elf” to “black people” and those are literally the same arguments used for slavery and how wrong that was….

  • “No, cultures are not equal”“Germany and Japan should return their former glory”“Please don’t spy on the oligarchs”“Silicon Valley should surpress violence”“Conscription should be mandatory”

Holy shit, I could break down most all of these, but I do have to laugh at the Germany and Japan ones. Post war, they’ve developed some of the strongest economies in their regions along with a large amount of soft power. I know what he’s getting at with how it’s phrased, but the phrasing really ignores how much they’ve done.

  • For a split second I thought those were all skeltons

  • Which to OPs point is a socio-political problem. We have the technology and means to distribute it globally, or ensure it’s created closer to the need, it’s just not being done.

  • Serious question: how did a shark plushy from ikea become a trans mascot?

  • I feel like that isn’t a hypothetical…?

  • Do you actually pay attention to the news, or just like throwing around whataboutisms?

  • And you assumed yet again. Damn, you must have the whole world figured out.

  • Thank you for assuming what I do or don’t do, or what I’m plugged into or not.
