International students have not driven rents and inflation substantially higher, RBA says
An RBA paper suggests the rapid growth in foreign students post-pandemic did not play a big role in pushing rents higher.
"The rise in international student numbers is likely to have accounted for only a small share of the rise in rents since the onset of the pandemic, with much of the rise in advertised rents occurring before borders were reopened."
I'm always been amazed at how many people don't know this, I was looking to move at the time and the borders hadn't been re-opened but when I attended rental places there was 50 people lined out the door it was insanity
