Gulf countries scramble to intercept missiles hours into U.S.-Iran ceasefire agreement

Many Middle Eastern countries continued to report incoming ballistic missiles and drones from Iran on Wednesday, within hours after the U.S. and Iran announced a two-week ceasefire.

KEY POINTS

Within hours after the ceasefire announcement, the Israeli military said that it had identified ballistic missile attacks from Iran.

The UAE said its air defense systems were dealing with missile attacks and incoming drones from Iran.

Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain and Qatar also issued alerts or activated defenses.
