How to End American Power || Peter Zeihan (most famous for his 'China will Collapse' era in the early 2020s)
Zeihan was famously a person which was never particularly smart. However he used to have the ability to make people who are not very smart themselves think that he knew what he was talking about. He was able to speak in a sort of "I know what I am talking about" way. This is what his business was, it was how he made money, from the attention of people less intelligent than him.
A few years ago however the market shifted to a new generation of geopolitical snakeoil-salesmen (including what I call the "multipolarity-mongers") and Peter lost much of the attention of his customers.
Now he desires to win his customers back with new products, meaning new "takes" on geopolitics. So because talking about the end of american hegemony is in fashion now, if someone who used to sell the opposite product until very recently shifted to also selling "the end of american hegemony", he would get a lot of new attention.
