It's pretty iconic and when you need to make a 4-digit pin quickly, it's something that stands out if you're a fan of the series. But as the heat map suggests, it may not be the most secure
There is a mod for adding skylights so you can farm indoors (not under a mountain) without a glow light that I find super useful. You smelt or machine steel to make glass panes that let light through. May help the mushroom farm and hay issues
The outward facing part from how it grows, not where the stem is. Used to think that was the bottom, but it's the top. Just pinch it and it opens easier every time.
I tried this and have been left in the dark about some things that just kind of popped up without warning
There was no mention of the Daedalus before Daniel mentioned catching a ride. I still have no context (middle of season 8)
The SGC knows a lot more about ZPMs. There's an episode in Season 8 where mirror-universe SG-1 tries to steal it from Atlantis, but apparently if Atlantis falls, the Wraith will come to our galaxy (no context given)
It is referenced that there are communication lines established
My journey was TNG, Deep Space 9 (DS9), Voyager, The Original Series (TOS), the animated series, Enterprise, Discovery. Movies as you see fit
Each series is very different and has character of their own. TNG is largely unconnected episodes with a 2-parter bridging the seasons. DSN starts pretty unconnected, but gets into a overarching plot at the end. Voyager follows a main theme, but has some unconnected episodes. TOS is episodic and doesn't have much follow up between episodes. Discovery is the latest and the most singular plot of the Star Treks (ie don't skip episodes in it).
Note also that the term for a show to "grow a beard" came from TNG. The first season was kind of slow with some very meh episodes. Riker physically grew a beard in the second season and the show got a lot better (unrelated coincidence, but a funny connection).
One other thing is that even though I recommend TNG, remember it came out in the late 80's. Some parts of it are slower and feel dragged out. The television show runtimes were longer back then.
Notable mentions are Galaxy Quest and Lower Decks. Both are funny on their own, but will 100% be rib-crushing hilarious only after you've watched a lot of Trek.
This idea is called a "Third Place". Your first place is home, the second place is work, and the third place is another place that isn't the first 2. There used to be more of these like malls, plazas, parks, and others. In the last few decades, these places have gone away, had funding cut, or otherwise died. And like OP is saying, there are places that have been created to fill this gap, but they have been monetized :(
I realized that I treated Reddit as a third place. It was somewhere I felt like a community existed that I could talk to people and just hang out. It wouldn't surprise me if people felt the same about Tik Tok or Facebook. So when one of those places is threatening to leave, it makes sense they feel there will be a void created.
Not sure what a good solution would be as this is a complicated issue.
3D TV. It was so cool. Games actually had heads up displays. Movies were especially immersive. So much potential for development. But people didn't like wearing glasses to use it :(
I really like how Rimworld plays. It's a colony sim with the ability to control pawns. And there are many great mods to help improve and change base gameplay
You know when you're at a park, see a dog, feel something squish under your foot, and then pick up your fooh to look at it? Yeah, exactly like that but in human form
The real Phantom Menace
