  • The constitution also requires that the vice president to meet all the conditions for a president. The constitution also requires that the president appoint judges and that the Senate confirms them.

Look, I'm not disagreeing with you. But at the end of the day, the constitution is just a piece of paper. Its power is in the individual people who swear to honor, uphold, and protect it. One party has definitely shown that they won't do that.

I'm not holding my breath that the Republicans will do the right thing if power is to be had.

  • Also depends on the contributions terms.

If they were a traditional FOSS, they can't change the terms without all contributors agreeing or removing/modifying the contributed code so that they no longer have ownership of their authored sections.

Either way, it's a dick move.

  • My favorite joke in American Dad is really subtle. It's one of the early episodes where Stan is getting to know Jeff Fischer.

Jeff: My mom left us before I was born.

Stan: How....how could she do that?

  • For each CAMEO Video (other than a Business CAMEO Video), you hereby grant to the User and the Recipient a non-exclusive, royalty-free, fully paid, worldwide, sublicensable, and perpetual license to use, reproduce, distribute, and publicly display the CAMEO Video, in each case, solely in accordance with the Site Terms, in any and all media, whether now known or hereafter invented or devised (including social media channels and third-party websites and platforms).

I'm only a humbly country space chicken lawyer but the terms explicitly say that Kimmel can do whatever the fuck he wants with the recording.

  • I have a feeling that if Biden dies in office, suddenly there will be this concern whether Harris was born in Kenya and can't be president and the Speaker of the House should be elevated instead (assuming the GOP maintain their leadership).

  • It might be a "broken clock is right twice a day" situation.

Jon Stewart's glorious return to The Daily Show covered this very topic.

Liberals have the right to question our leadership. It's okay for us to wonder if the president has the ability to make good decisions.

The problem is that conservatives won't hear the same questions for their candidate.

  • If you ever go to r/relationship_advice and read posts where their friend T did S with P and then A (23 F) got into with G, then yeah...Alice and Bob suddenly makes a lot of sense.

  • The problem is companies that fully take advantage of open source, as is their right, and then fully expect the volunteer dev to provide support them when they have a Sev 1.

Sure they read the license and saw that it was free, but they didn't read the part that it was free but offered literally no support.

The amount of money that my company has made on the backs of open source developers is probably in the literal billions. But we don't give fuck squat to them outside of one day a year that we contribute code back to a few select libraries.

  • But but but muh campaign donations!

  • He defrauded everyone else. Surely he won't defraud us.

    • Republican voters
  • Back then, everything was done through a travel agent and they often got kickbacks if you took certain routes. No doubt some agents got a bonus for routing them so circuitously.

  • Given all of the issues that the federation has seen with transporters, I am shocked that they are even allowed to be used at all.

  • There isn't a win here. Meet with Biden? "BiDeN iS bEiNg UnReAsOnAbLe!"

Biden rebuffs? "BiDeN wOn'T eVeN nEgOtIaTe!"

The Republican party isn't about playing fair.

  • It's too damn early in the day for me to be weeping uncontrollably.

  • Eh....Steve Rogers is taking it a bit far.

Maybe Scott Lang. Or Clint Barton.

  • All we can do is hope Trump is jailed

Nothing in the Constitution bars Trump from holding the Office of the President while in a super max prison.

    Absolutely nothing.

  • I think I used to do something similar with email spam traps. Not sure if it's still around but basically you could help build NaCL lists by posting an email address on your website somewhere that was visible in the source code but not visible to normal users, like in a div that was way on the left side of the screen.

Anyway, spammers that do regular expression searches for email addresses would email it and get their IPs added to naughty lists.

I'd love to see something similar with robots.

  • One point of correction: Biden would do better in the primary. If it were Porter v Trump, Porter would win, hands down.

  • I would 1000% support Katie Porter.

She doesn't have the political capital to sustain a presidential run, but I'd love to see her at least put her name out there. Similar to Yang in 2020. But she's going to follow the rules and not run until 2028.

My biggest gripe with Biden is that he's too old. He was old in 2020 but I still vote for him because I was against Trump.

That's what this election is. Are we voting for democracy or fascism?

Democrats haven't put out a decent candidate since Obama, and I say that as someone who was a conservative when he was up for election. Hillary was just......awful. 2020 was an election to put Trump out of office, not necessarily to put Biden into office.

I'm not saying Biden is a bad candidate but he isn't great either. But compared to Miami Mussolini, yeah I'll be voting Biden.
