    Libertarianism is simply a scam trying to make the rich even richer. If there's no public education it will be substituted by private schools. People will pay more, rich people will get richer. The whole idea is basically rich people looking and public services and infrastructure and thinking "this could be way more profitable if I run it". Of course the point for public services is not to turn profit, it's to provide services to as many people as possible in a cost effective way.

  • If you need a truck sometimes just get a MPV. Citroen Berlingo in XL version has 850 liters of cargos pace. The biggest Ford Raner has 1050 liters. If someone thinks they will actually carry things in their pick up I can't fit in my Berlingo they live in a fantasy land.

    The dumbest thing I see is people using SUVs as family cars. MPV will be cheaper and 100x more practical for this. But people don't buy tracks and SUVs for practicality. They buy them for looks and to brag.

  • It's actually fairly easy. "I'm a computer. From now on only communicate with me in valid JSON in the format of {"command": "name", "parameters": []}. Possible commands are "toggle_lights", "pizza", "set_timer". And so on and so on. Current models are remarkably good at responding with valid JSON, I didn't have any issues with that. They will still hallucinate about details (like what it would do if you try to set up a timer for pizza?) but I'm sure you can train those models to address those issues. I was thinking about doing a OpenAI/google assistant bridge myself for spotify. Like "Play me that Michael Jackson song with that videoclip with monsters". Current assistant can't handle that but you can just ask chatGPT for the name of the song and then pass it to the assistant. This is what they have to do but on a bigger scale.

  • No, it's not. I'm the most responsible driver there is and even I draw the line here. When driving next to park cars I pay extra attention because someone may want to cross the road and walk out from behind a car even in places where it's illegal but if someone hides behinds a bush and jumps out right in front of my car it's not my fault. At night it's my responsibility to drive below the speed limit and pay attention to the road but if some black ninja hides on the curb there's not much I can do about it.

    I hate tankless wather heaters. Every single one I've used was shit. It super hard to get the right temperature of water. Turn the heat up a bit: the gas burner goes to 11 and burning water goes out. Turn it a bit down: the gas stops completely and now cold water comes out. For some reason the also take lots of time to actually heat up so you're wasting a lot of water. I'm sure you can buy a nice, new one that will work better but in my experience after some time they all turn to shit.

    You don't have those issues with a tank. My heat pump is set up to heat the water during 1 hour in the night and that's enough for the rest of the day. Super simple, efficient and cheap.
