  • I don't only feel less intelligent, I am less intelligent. My IQ dropped about 20%, which is noticeable by everyone including me.

    The most annoying thing is that it feels like my brain is underclocked. Some Ritalin helped for a while with that but I had to stop taking it because of the risk for sudden death in conjunction with my other meds and conditions, which is something I wouldn't like to experience.

    However even with enhancing drugs I still am not the 80% which my IQ test says, I feel more like half of what I used to be. It's really detrimental to self worth knowing that I used to be smart and now I'm "just average" even though years of therapy told me it's OK to be average.

  • I allow and acknowledge them. I know that I should seek help when they become more concrete, but as log as it's just a death wish it's nothing to worry about.

    Do know that your current situation is not indefinite. Sometimes, a door closes but a window opens.

  • Aww yeah, kidney stones suck. I'm glad I could mitigate them by becoming vegetarian and consuming less salt. Doesn't work for everyone though. Which kind of stones did you have?

  • I survived a drug induced coma and since then my brain just misses a lot of cells. I once had a pretty high IQ and nowadays I can be happy I remembered to take my pills in the morning. The most I can do is a low level sysadmin job, for everything else I basically lack the brains.

    It's not really something I have experienced in a past tense, I experience this shit every single day. Hate to be ridiculed for my bad memory especially. My coworkers don't know that and regularly make fun of me.

  • Frage mich ob BSW ein paar populistische Stimmen von Rechts holen kann. Den Leuten ist es doch nur wichtig wer am Lautesten schreit und manche AfD Wähler habe ich schon sagen hören "wenn Wagenknecht bei der AfD wäre, würde ich sie wählen".

    Ich sehe BSW als geringeres Übel als die AfD und als sinnvollere Oppositionspartei, trotz ihres sonstigen Versagens. Linke sind aus gutem Grund nicht populistisch genug.

  • Das mit der Bühne verstehe ich. Aber warum diskutiert man mit ihnen nicht, z.B. um ihnen im 1:1 Gespräch ihre Meinung zu invalidieren? Manchmal interessiert es Leute ja dann doch, was andere über sie denken.

    Die aktuellen Demos sind meiner Meinung nach viel wichtiger als Fingerzeig für Ortsansässige, nicht AfD zu wählen, anstatt wirklich für ein AfD Verbot zu sorgen. Deswegen hat die AfD da ja auch Angst.

  • Ist er nicht Moderator? Das muss nicht immer ein Journalist sein. So kann sich zwar jeder nennen, aber Journalisten müssen in meinen Augen die Hauptschule mit besser als 4,0 beenden. Nicht sicher, ob Lanz das Kriterium ob seiner fehlenden Eloquenz erfüllen kann.

  • I would make Debian and Arch be deterministic like NixOS, but with a different language and less overhead. I really like the principle but the implementation is subpar.

  • In this case probably Vulkan, as developers tend to use current computers which support Vulkan, which is faster and younger and has less overhead.

    In other cases you probably want OpenGL because older GPUs don't support Vulkan and usually you want to include as many users as possible.

  • I know how ML works, my comment was a persiflage on over-simplifying the topic of AI and logic. I originally marked it with an /s to indicate sarcasm, but I think this gets lost with newer generations, so now I replaced the /s with the upside down emoji (🙃) which also seems to indicate sarcasm.
