oh I've been there before. Anti-getting-hit-with-a-car-bricks aren't even the weirdest part about the place. They got so many seagulls over there they have professional falconers who have trained hawks to scare off the seagulls. Absolutely bizarre to see IRL
i don't even have words for this one. this is completely deranged even by US standards. they're going to make you go through the TSA experience every single day. it won't do anything to stop crime or terrorism or anything that it says on its face. they're going to do this, it's going to stay, and the only people who are for it are people who don't use the subway
True, true. Personally, I've simply had too many former friends who were significantly less radical than what I thought they were when it really started getting down to it and it's starting to make me a lot more cautious/suspicious around other people with left leaning politics
However, it's important to consider that "white" is more than just ancestry, and it's embedded in a social construct that has enabled oppression and racial strife for a significantly long time throughout history. This means that there is absolute validity in the truth that white people can be much more half-hearted in supporting leftist causes than POC because not being able to view things from a lens of intersectionality is absolutely a hindrance to leftist ideology.
still 11:39pm the 31st on the US west coast. i got to go to bed so I can be bamboozled tomorrow
