  • To be fair, the priest did treat some of those verses in the (badly) linked post, with the 1 Corinthians 6:9 and 1 Timothy 1:8-11 ESV explicitly calling "homosexuality" likely due to translation error

    I think most of the points he argued are flimsy, because most are "well, actually, if we interpret it like this instead...". Even the aforementioned translation error is a very weak argument that the original passage didn't mean some sort of man-on-man action (arsen = man, koites (also the source of coitus) = bed; arsenokoites becoming something like "bed man").

  • old days of the interwebs is like late 80s/early 90s, before centralized game servers were a thing. On the rare cases of fully online games (original Neverwinter Nights and other MUDs and MMORPGs), mods and admins were known to enforce rules if they were online

    Maybe what anon considers "normal" is early 2010s Dota/LoL/Heroes of Newerth, where winning meant getting called a "fucking cheating retard that doesn't know how to play" and losing meant getting called a "stupid gay cunt retard n* piece of shit" and everyone was happy*

    * everyone playing those games was absolutely miserable

  • The more I look at it, the less I believe any country is truly democratic, since most elections are popularity contests where people with more money have a much higher chance of being elected. Any place where there are "long running families" within politics, it sure feels like just a crappy veneer of "democracy" over aristocracy.
