As an eastern European nearing their 30s in a situation much less extreme than yours - do not fall for "patriotism". I do not mean the "go and fight for your people" type. That takes guts and mentality I do not possess.
I mean the "doing X is unpatriotic" type. Usually comes from "patriotic" formations who follow a certain narrative and work for the interests of other countries. Look for buzzwords like traditional values, us vs them, targeting a group of people as a whole, claiming to get back "what is ours" (territory lost centuries ago, not currently occupied land). Big social media presence coupled with self-produced "reports" and "news articles" (bonus points if they have their own mass media channels) are also a giveaway.

Lately when I'm looking for tutorials, my search results are overwhelmingly weird question and answer style "articles", akin to chatgpt prompts, some of which are barely related to what I'm looking for. I'm having a hard time looking for articles written by a human. In fact oftentimes I question whether or not the article is written by a machine or a person who sucks at writing.
I guess they popped up around the time I started putting up suet! I only recently started feeding mealworms. Best thing I got was a wild ferret but the other birds seem to love them! A couple of chaffinches seem to have become regulars. I saw a robin or two pop up but they don't seem to like my yard too much.
I do but we didn't get many birds until just recently. Hopefully next year we'll see more of them. Right now they pop up around the feeders scavenging for leftovers. The tits don't like them much so they're rather shy.
For me robins are rather rare. I hear one occasionally but I rarely see them. Blue and great tits on the other hand have taken over my backyard (with my help).
Within 200m I had falafel from two different places. One tasted like woodshavings and paper towels (I kinda suspect a paper towel really did get in there, it's usually just wood shavings), the other one was Lebanese, and it was the tastiest, most amazing falafel I've had in my life. Homemade is great, supermarket is ok when I want a quick wrap but kinda meh.
Depending on where you live. Over here the prices of plant based milks retained their prices for the most part while dairy surged. On top, big retailers (Kaufland, Lidl) released their own plant milks that go for as low as 1.20€ per carton. Pretty good stuff too!
And what exactly makes humans superior? In a couple of hundred years we did what millenial cataclysms couldn't do. The human superiority will be in the fossil record as a microscopic toxic line. If anything we're the worst species that has ever emerged on this planet.
Snakes in many cultures are seen as the embodiment of wisdom. They also stabilize rodent populations for example and are hunted by raptors. If snakes disappear tomorrow, there goes your human superiority. See also Mao's war on sparrows and the millions starved after showing their superiority over the tiny birds.
I understand no argument would change your mind on the matters, especially on the Fediverse, but I really hope you read about this from different angles.
I sent them to my local craft store. They're a small local business, ran by a retired couple, that sells art and stitching supplies. The husband makes custom frames while the wife does the consultations and sales.
I started a couple of full coverage pieces. Sadly I'm only about 20 stitches in with the main one and I don't have anything to show yet. Maybe next week!
Eh.. it might. Harvoni and its relatives are a cure for HepC. They charge about a lifetime's worth of liver treatment for a 3 month supply after which you're most likely cured. Over here one course of Harvoni is worth over 110 average monthly supplies of Humira (a rather expensive biological blockbuster RA/Crohn's drug). Insulin costs 5-10 times less depending on the user... I'm comparing apples to orange but you probably get the idea. Chronic illness is profitable but curing it yields a higher margin as your patient will likely survive the full course.
If/when it hits the market the pricetag would be about a lifetime's+ supply of insulin probably.
This person has clearly never interacted with a bird before. These dinosaurs are clearly capable of thinking, feeling, and voicing their opinions. Of course, the same applies to farm mammals. Regardless, we don't have workers from our own country willing to work in places like this. Instead we get people from Uzbekistan who spend all their life savings for a better life here only to quit on day 1 and try to go back home after witnessing the horrors of poultry farming.
Banned practices or not, factory farming, resulting from the demand to eat meat daily, is simply cruel, unsustainable, and oftentimes sadistic (to the animals AND workers)
