  • The Venn diagram of 4chan users is a smaller circle entirely within the reddit circle.

  • CWA largely removes the need for running Calibre.

I use CWA for the main book "hub" and upload everything (audiobooks and comics too) to it. Then I have audiobookshelf scan the calibre directory, and Komga do the same because the app I use for comics (cdisplayex) doesn't sync with Koreader yet.

On the client side I use Koreader, Lissen and Cdisplayex.

It works fine but it would be nice to have one app that syncs all progress. And my holy grail is one that can sync ebook and audiobook progress like Amazon's whispersync!

  • Farscape had absolutely no right to be that good on a $4.99 AUD budget

  • Call me naive, but from where I'm sitting the old web we all love is not only still there but getting better every day with inventions like ActivityPub and the fediverse. The Google feature listed in this article is stupid but it only affects Google users.

Google and Meta and Reddit etc, have built their own walled gardens garbage dumps, but if you look at what's left when you remove their worthless fluff, all of the good bits are still there and getting better. Just because the Good Web doesn't move at the breakneck pace of silicon valley VC-funded startups doesn't mean it's not improving every day.

  • Excited for the official KDE Distro. I am a big fan of Fedora Kinoite but will probably give KDE a show once it is out of beta.

  • No Photogimp is not enough lol

  • They’ve just rebranded La Suite Meet anyway,

I was basing it off the top comment here which said "They’ve just rebranded La Suite Meet" (which isn't E2E) but it looks like that person might have just been talking out their ass anyway.

  • Honestly? I would probably pay for a GIMP clone that has a photoshop-like UI and can be installed via flatpak. $70 is a little high but if it was $20 and received regular updates?

  • what is it

  • This appears to be one guy's blog who writes about the royal family, with no connection to the family itself.

He also outputs a suspiciously large amount of articles/day. Probably using AI.

  • The open source version isn't E2E encrypted fyi

  • is tripwire Odo not deadly enough for you?

  • Nothing stopping you from making a post when you see a service on sale!

  • It seems to be implying that SoCs will soon become so fast and efficient that they will always outperform custom builds in every category including price.

There's an argument to be made there (not saying I agree).

  • Yep he's one of those culture warrior types. Honestly surprised he got Andy Weir on as I was under the impression he was relatively small potatoes in that space.

  • "Dragon's Egg" is a great little book written by a physicist/aerospace engineer and it shows.

  • Komga maybe? It's made for comics/manga but they can be grouped.
