  • The committee is both parties, with the majority party having the ability to ensure no hearings take place if they want.... Which they did. The point of such was obviously because they didn't want anyone trying to be swayed into thinking war was bad. The Democrats couldn't force the vote to happen sooner than it did, Kaine forced it to happen as only 1 member of Congress has to call it, and after that it is irrelevant if any more call for it, as it is already set to occur.

    At No point could Kaine or the Democrats in the committee said let's have this vote tomorrow. It was going to wait 10 days unless the Republicans on the comitee wanted otherwise, and every Republican on the comitee voted the same way.

  • The HVAC unit is gas, I think the water heater is electric, there isn't a bottom fed spark/fire like the units I remember from say my grandfather's place built on the 50s.

  • Because what you quoted is an opinion based on an action not being taken. Also the vote was already called for but has not yet taken place. Where as there was an action of subterfuge stated here "Multiple sources have told her that “a top Democratic HFAC staffer … deliberately inflated projections of opposition to the bipartisan measure – warning of 20 to 40 Democratic defections” in a bid to indicate the resolution would fail overwhelmingly."

    Neither Jefferies or Schumer are HFAC staff members. Those members are designated regions of the world. One "Top" member presides over the Middle East and North Africa.

    I thought it was Sheila but I need to correct that, she apparently stepped down in November after an indictment, it is now held by Brad Sherman, a Representative in California.

  • Nah, to partisan. Id agree with, if your representative doesn't vote in the war time resolution to not go to war, then you are added to the draft list. Doesn't matter if you are a Republican, Democrat, independent, or didn't vote. It would make the representative actually have to represent their constituents, and face the wrath of their constituents if they go against them. (Also, no one exempt from the draft, don't look at age, sex, wealth etc. random selection off of everyone). If your 76 year old grandma gets called to go, she goes. Overweight? You'll probably die in boot camp.

    It would probably end all wars ever from starting involving our country ever again, lol

  • So if I read that right it would possibly mean Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick, a representative from Florida Brad Sherman of California (Sheila stepped down in November) may be the one being manipulated or doing the manipulation.

    The darker side of the article seems to state several Democrats agree that attacking Iran would be a political catastrophe so if Trump did it, it may assist in regaining hold of either the Senate or the House so they would have the numbers to potentially stop future issues.

    Dark Because the sacrifices that are brought to the table, but in truth.. they aren't the ones who put them on the table.

    Basically, do we have the numbers to stop this? No. So should we allow it to fail spectacularly to use it to our advantage? Maybe.

    Every life lost was chosen by the White Houses actions, it's crazy that representatives have to even debate how us peasants may or may not benefit by their deaths.

    The higher ups who joined as officers maybe a bit, but even then the higher ups who had the possibility of being rebellious were all investigated for loyalty and removed if they were risk.
