  • I was maybe 32 the first time I mentioned something on this topic to my spouses dad. I used the term phallus, granted I believe we had been smoking weed around a fire and I ended up having to say it 3 times before explaining it meant penis/dick or what not. To which was hilarious because he immediately was like "yeah I have been thinking that looks like a dick".

    Think that was the first time I'd ever smoked weed with a spouses parent before, but that's what he would do, so even though I don't usually smoke, I figured why not.

    Holidays at her dad's place were so much different than I was used to growing up.

Honestly we would have so many bans if it were followed, but disrespecting or insulting someone who agrees with MAGA, Democrats, the IDF, or such is already unallowed.

  • Yeah they could just rename their instance and come from another IP address. The only way you would get around that would be whitelisting instances instead of blacklisting them. Which overall would greatly hurt the growth and purpose of federation (in my personal opinion, others would disagree I'm sure).

    Sorry to use the trope of comparing to email, but it would be the same thing as you banning an email domain, and them creating a different one. Your filters don't know to block them. Hosting an instance from a dedicated IP that isn't identifying their home residence would be the preferred method for most I would assume.

  • They talked about a guy who was in a nursing home for 22 years, couldn't hardly see and had no identification information on him (I suppose his meds had his name, but no ID, Birth Certificate and such) but they said that leaves him no way to get a job or housing.

    How the fuck would someone who couldn't work for the last 22 years suddenly be able to get a job? If his insurance stopped paying and that's why they kicked him it isn't like someone can just go rent a place to live either, they need proof of income, which he wouldn't ever be able to get.   • Not quite, I'm the mirrored version you see when you look in the mirror, except I must say the mirror must be fogged because it says lady in your name, so you'd have to be squinting hard. My beard is a bit hard to mistake, lol. Hope you find some sort of spark in your life soon that starts to make things better, I really need to find a new line of work probably.

  • Finding the will to get out of bed in the morning. For twenty years I've gone to work 40 or more hours a week and honestly I just can't seem to find a care to do it anymore. I'm sure it's tied to depression or not being happy in my life or some shit but really it just seems easier some days to say why not just end it and not stress about being late on rent or having some awkward conversation telling someone you were sick and you know you shouldnt be missing days but really the work is just not fulfilling so I have no drive to keep doing it.

  • I'm fairly certain I don't have any smart appliances. Like I'm not sure what I'd even want them to do. Which probably makes me the dumbest appliance in the house. I can't keep a schedule to save my life, so it's not like I could schedule a coffee pot, and I dont really care for coffee. Maybe a tea pot but like why... Id probably rather just have it cold at that point. Hot beverages are a pain to drink because I'm afraid of burning myself over and over which I've done hundreds of times, so I wait for it to be like luke warm and then it really just defeated the purpose.

  • Do toasters die? I've been using the oven whenever I needed toast do to counter space but like the design of a toaster makes me feel like if you shot a hole through a toaster you might just get a toaster that heats most of the bread, and you just have a circle where it doesnt toast. I guess it depends where you shoot it maybe.
