I think I understand your sentiment, but I don't think that's a fair take. I subscribe to Spotify, but I also go to 6-10 shows per year, buy merch directly. The music industry has changed, and live entertainment is king. I'm sure you have an opinion for the stance you're presenting, but that's statement is pretty inflammatory by itself.

Nope, this was an official, legally sold product. Came with a keyboard, mouse, 40gb HDD, and PS2 ethernet adapter. Required an 8MB memory card to function and installed via command line. It's a pretty cool piece of history.

The tax loophole was a perceived reason, but it was never proven to be true. The closest admission to it was Sony losing a lawsuit related to the situation and Sony admitting that something related to Yabasic was intended to skirt EU tax law, not Linux for PS2. I never heard of Yabasic before today.

Fun fact, Geohot owns a company that jailbreaks cars and their adaptive cruise control systems now.

Either your info is out of date or you didn't actually read the story. Insurance covered the shots, albeit only after being pressured. It's fubar anyway, but the particular story you're referencing resolved in a just way

You bet your ass I'm voting for Biden over Trump. Elections have consequences. I don't like Biden as a candidate. But with how elections currently work in the US, it's either Biden or Trump. And that's an easy decision.

Edit* you hexbear folks are an interesting lot. You fling around accusations that completely ignore the complexities of geopolitics. It's insulting to suggest that I support genocide, especially without engagement in an actual discussion. I've been around lemmy a while now and every day it's the same argument from you folks. There can be no discussion because y'all can't act like adults and have a good faith discussion. The only answer is to not engage, and that's a shame.

That would be nice. Just keep in mind that they already have an arbitration clause, so that seems to piss on (but not all over and certainly not shit on) gamers who have standing to enforce those values.
