  • No idea, but it's worth a shot, worst it can do is nothing.

  • Arch is a good choice, Endeavour was my flavor of choice, but these days I use Linux Mint: Debian Edition, which works mostly fine for me (got one minor piece of software I can't get for it).

  • And here I thought you said you were going to see a Muenster movie last night

  • Honestly I'm not really surprised, they're a battery company that moved into making cars. Considering how important batteries are to electric cars, if they make reliable, cheap and powerful batteries, it won't be hard to move cars, even mediocre ones, and from what I've seen, their cars are anything but mediocre.

Yet another electric bike recall announced due to faulty brakes

    electrek.co /2023/09/21/yet-another-electric-bike-recall-announced-due-to-faulty-brakes/
  • I so want a practical electric vehicle, and this comes close, but still falls short on the mileage, at least for people like me.

  • We were already leaning towards replacing it with WalMart+ before this announcement. It used to be worth it when it was cheaper and got you next day delivery, but those are gone. We have little use for it's various features, so we figure give W+ a try for a year, it's cheaper, and seems to cover our needs, though there's a good chance that'll be a one and done thing, since I don't think we'll find it worth it, but I don't see us going back to Prime.

  • Why, why are they under any obligation to be accurate? I"ve used them since you had to print out the directions, they've told me to make illegal turns, go the wrong way down one way streets, use a road with a bridge out, use roads that don't exist and more, and while annoying, I just rolled with it, because they never promised me anything more than that the directions were prolly accurate.

  • This is what I was thinking, suing Google sounds like a cash grab as there's government agencies and possibly private land owners responsible for putting up barriers and signs warning the bridge is out. Google maps is useful, but you still have to use some sense rather than blindly following it, heck, I've run into cases where it can't figure out how to get to a street (that actually happened yesterday).

  • You're welcome. I do recommend looking up Sunset's Isekai, it crosses over with a lot of things, it's Stargate crossover being one of my favorites, it ends with the SG1 team using an Equestrian portal to escape back to Equestria, which turns them into ponies. O'Neill winds up being a pegasus, and when told they'll be changed back to human before they take the Stargate back to Earth, he looks at his wings, and asks the Princesses one question... 'Do these things work?' Some how I can easily see him doing that. T

That said, there's been a fair number of MLP stories that I've discovered because of it.

As to the MLP lore, they do good with it, but there are some surprises, but you might've guessed one of them already, which explains the rest.

    Who's really important

  • Linux Mint: Debian Edition. After watching a YouTube review I decided to take a break from Arch and give it a try, I'd always like Cinnamon, and I really like this.

  • Nothing like that came up for me, but then I do have two blockers on my browser

  • While they have been, modern warfare is primarily the purview of national armies, the US shifted them from a supporting role to a much greater part for plausible deniability (Army casualties are very low when most of the combatants are mercenaries after all).

  • Another place to look is at Lenovo laptops, I've had no problems installing Linux on them, and catch the right sale and you can get some really nice deals, though you have to be careful as they have a ridiculous number of variations on each model, some existing only for a single special deal.

  • Oh, I did forget one thing Kbin does better, inline images. IMGBB, the place I keep my pics, offers copy & paste code for adding images to your blog, and the HTML works right off the bat, unlike Lemmy which requires the use of meta text

  • You might have to define active, I never posted often there, and while I do scroll through it daily, I don't find much that grabs my attention, I'm literally only visiting out of habit, same for Twitter as it happens, but at some point I'll likely drop it.

  • I use both and while I prefer Kbin's interface slightly, I will say that my experience with Lemmy is definitely better, the Kbin instance I'm on often has 500 errors on various parts of the site, along with lots of duplicate posts. Overall, I think it's a toss up, neither one is particularly better than the other, though Lemmy is bigger.

  • For me, I just like the interface better, but there isn't a whole lot of difference really
