  • That's an important part of it. Let's say half of it. I'd say the other half is zero-sum thinking about literally everything. If they see someone receiving help, their brain is screaming at them that those resources could have gone to them instead. I think it presents more as a strong feeling of moral right and wrong. They will never understand equity when their brain is tuned so badly wrong.

  • There's a new leader at the DNC. I don't know much about him but I truly hope he isn't so corrupt that he can't see what's happening. Biden stayed essentially center right and won. Kamala we've further right and failed. I honestly don't think there will be anything close to fair elections in 2028, so 2026 might be their last stand.

    They must learn the lesson that progressive policies have wide support among Americans that aren't fascist. Run progressive candidates who aren't afraid to call Trump and Musk and their administration exactly what they are

    Above all, the electorate must understand that this is likely their last chance to put the brakes on Trump, if it's not already impossible by then. This is not the time for purity tests, protest votes, or sitting out the election for any reason.

    The fact is, at least 2 million democrats who voted in the previous election did not vote this time. Leftists are an incredibly small portion of the population unfortunately.

  • I think the word filter is silly. If people want to say bad words let them. Other people will tell them to fuck off if it's inappropriate, or report them and get them banned if it's bad enough.

    But what do I know, I say the word retarded because the euphemism treadmill for words that mean distinctly less intelligent than average is totally out of hand.

  • I feel like at least half the men I see have at least a goatee (which I think look terrible) if not a beard (which looks good as long as it's not a neckbeard). I can't grow a full beard but sometimes I grow my mustache out for fun. It's extra fun because it's orange and people don't expect that. Not fun for my wife though because my facial hair is extremely stiff and prickly.

    I think beards being "in" now has helped a lot of guys with their self image because they don't like the shape of their face.
