    Must have missed this when yuki was defending 7th position from Lando and Lewis in a shit AT before getting fucked on strategy by his own team. At the same time, Lawson was fighting over 15th. Yes it was Lawson's first race and he did as well as expected but saying he was on par with tsunoda is wrong. It took a red flag, a penalty and a horrendous strategy for Lawson to be on par with tsunoda

  • Maybe you can try logging in before changing the file. Then quit steam, change the file and restart your steam system and then try to open steam. This was the exact process I followed and it worked.

    Edit : the change to the .desktop file is not applied until you reboot your system.

    This. People act as if there is nothing other than the fight for the winner and then completely ignore the brilliant action for all other spots. Yes a season becomes brilliant when there is a compelling fight for the drivers championship but we can have great racing even without a fight for P1

  • Well it is still a competition. Red bull are winning because they made a great car and have a driver who will go down as legendary. Similarly merc had a great car and legendary driver combo. It would only cease to be a competition if Red Bull are given the victory irrespective of where they finish or it comes out that the entire F1 season is scripted in a similar way to WWE

  • I don't think you can attribute his underperformance at McLaren to bad luck. He was just not able to adapt to a difficult to drive car and his weaknesses were exposed. That is on the driver and not bad luck

  • @ljdawson@lemmy.world were you able to recreate the issue? I went through the settings and could find nothing that I could have done that would lead to this issue. All I have changed since installing the app is changing fonts and font sized. Almost all other settings are whatever they were by default.

  • I don't know man. Mac OS also has no software to open a lot of file types out of the box but even people with little to computer knowledge are able to download the things they need from the app store. They can do the same in ubuntu as well

  • This is not a big issue. In the installer or first time boot welcome pop up, just add a page where some popular apps are shown and can be selected to be downloaded and installed.

    Also what the fuck does the author mean when he says ubuntu is special¿? It is not that different from other distros and the ways that it is different does not make it better

  • And you definitely have to use DRI_PRIME=1 argument for every game to open them with dGPU.

    In my case, I am on a amd+amd laptop and I don't have to use the DRI_PRIME=1 argument to make the game use the dGPU. It just automatically uses the dGPU but I have seen others mention that they needed to use the argument.

  • This is an issue/bug with steam trying to open with the dGPU. In the steam.desktop file, change the PrefersDedicatedGPU (might not be exactly worded like this) parameter from true to false. Though after using this, you might have to use the DRI_PRIME=1 with your games to make them use the dGPU

    Edit : credit for this goes to a kind gentleman who helped with the issue 2 months ago when the new steam UI dropped.
