  • Agreed. Nice when you need more of your fix, but you have to make sure you don't burn through the archives too fast lol

  • Chemical Brothers - Under The Influence has always been my go-to system tester. The song itself is meh, but a good system will rattle your bones listening to it.

  • Even if the global birth rate dropped to ~1.75 kids per woman (currently it's around 2.3), it would still take over 150 years for the world population to fall to half its current level. We are in no danger of humans becoming endangered, except by our own hands. I believe this is 100% related to him being an asshole.

  • Obligatory Patrice O'Neal retort:

"I do a lot of stuff to protect myself. I keep my receipts. I collect receipts 'cause that's a trail of where you been, man. Everywhere I go I get a receipt. And I never go more than a half hour without buying something cause you could kill somebody in a half hour, and then you need an alibi."

  • Soros gets blamed not because he is a democratic billionaire, but because he's a [[[certain kind]]] of democratic billionaire.

  • But would he really hope for half spears?

  • One of my favorite stats to pull out in regards to this:

What states have had the most votes for Trump (2016, 2020, 2024)?

    Texas16,968,991
    California16,572,025
    Florida16,396,742
  • You're right, a 100% fix of the problem is not simple or easy. But there's a whole lot of low-hanging fruit that we can tackle to make huge strides.

While drugs and/or mental illness may be involved in a high percentage of the chronically homeless, the chronically homeless only account for somewhere between 1/5 and 1/3 of all homeless. So housing the other homeless would still take care of the needs of ~80% of all homeless, give or take. Get single-payer healthcare up and running to prevent more people from ending up in those situations, and change from a retributive justice system to one that cares about rehabilitation, and suddenly we've got a society that actually cares about people, and would cost less to run while we're at it.

But, with a functioning safety net, people won't feel like they have no other choice but to work a shit job for shit wages, and the oligarchs can't have that.

  • Why is everyone fully clothed in that Oglaf strip?

  • StarCraft. Learn to type really quickly when you're coordinating a massive assault or calling for reinforcements.

  • FYI: Rhinoceruses don't play games. They f*cking charge your ass.

  • Open the dictionary and under the word idiot, what do you see?

    A picture of me?

No! The definition of the word idiot! Which you are!

(done from memory, so likely not 100% accurate)

  • AKA we all know this is bullshit, but I'm going to backtrack and cover my ass just enough to not catch a perjury charge

  • That's just the poorly designed default position.

  • Nope, it was reasonably randomly assigned. It's just that the odds weren't great.

So he rolled the dice on Florida, calculating his one in 26 odds of drawing the dreaded Judge Cannon were pretty good. The problem is, as they said in “The Music Man,” he didn’t know the territory. The odds were really as short as three to one against drawing Cannon.

The catch is that the Southern District of Florida is administratively divided into five divisions: Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Palm Beach, Key West and Fort Pierce. This is supposed to be for the convenience of the parties and their lawyers, and has no other legal significance.

Cannon is the only judge sitting in Fort Pierce, which is in St. Lucie County, 68 miles north of Palm Beach and 128 miles north of Miami. But, for the purpose of assigning judges, Fort Pierce is treated as part of the neighboring Palm Beach Division. There are three federal district judges in Palm Beach, one of whom is a senior judge. What Smith did not know, or failed sufficiently to appreciate, is that the pool of judges administratively eligible to try the case was not 26 but four. (If you remove from consideration the senior judge, the eligible pool narrows to three.) The grand jury that returned the Trump indictment sat in Miami because the courthouse facilities were more accommodating than those in Palm Beach, but an administrative order deemed the investigation a Palm Beach inquiry.

  • Damn, you were on pace for a really great score until that last one.
