Thanks for the reply! Basically, I don't want us to have our own libraries. I have tons of family images which Immich face-recognises and I can merge them accordingly and set up albums etc. However, when I create another user, this user can only see the photos through the Sharing page and cannot see the Faces/People tagged by the recognition, it's just a gallery of dated pictures. Presumably I will have the same experience for pictures they share.
What I want is for all users to be able to all the People (tagged by the facial recognition). With the way that sharing appears to work this wouldn't be possible if my family members were individual users so I am wondering if the only way around this is to have just one generic user login which everyone uses, that way we all get to see the People through the Explore page and can see the map for all pictures that everyone uploads.
"There was climate change when the Vikings were around so it's not as clear cut as people make out."
In my country we've had the opposite of a heat wave, the worst summer I can remember with rain almost every day and temperatures barely making it above 20 degrees. He says that this shows the planet isn't heating up and jokes that we need more carbon.
Spend some money on decent grooming products, get some decent shower gel, a facial cleanser, moisturiser. I didn't touch fragrances/colognes until I was in my 40s and couldn't believe the confidence it gave when I found one I liked.
You should try some dark ambient instead of noise. Some is more distracting than others but a lot of it is perfect for what you describe. Try Kammarheit.
I've settled on gonemad, it's one of the only ones which has what I need - an audodj feature to queue random albums after the current one has finished and the ability to play random albums (like a button to play a random one). Unfortunately none of the open source ones I've tried have both of these, usually the autodj feature
I actually find it easier. On the digitakt I just copy the pattern and start making small changes or mute some channels and straight away you have a variation. The transition can be difficult but if it's copied from the previous pattern it is usually a coherent change at least.
There are loads and a few of them don't hold much interest for me but it is amazing that you can swap them out and try something entirely different. Certainly makes it feel like a better investment.
Yeah I've given up on him to be honest. Kind of sad, we grew up together and he used to be quite alternative but has been sliding into someone I don't recognise. I can't comprehend it and most of the time I just let him expose what an idiot he's become. Just the other day he said "Trump wasn't that bad, he was the best of a bad bunch". I could hardly believe it... absolutely staggering. But yeah, like you said, it's a lost cause and he will only get worse and lost in his toxic Facebook groups.
Thanks for the thoughtful reply, lots of points to consider here. You're advice about just getting just a couple actually pushed me to jump in and make the order so hopefully I'll be receiving Morphagene and Desmodus Versio this week! I came across Desmodus while looking for distortion and realised I had to get it, it seems like it would be perfect for what I want.
I think I agree about Maths, the ability to have another drone could be very useful. I hadn't seen QARV but it looks like beast. I will have to research and think about the modulation aspect more, I was also looking at Ornament & Crime which looks incredible as well but I'm not sure how I feel about the screen and menus. Hard to dismiss that and Pams though considering how much they can do.
I've been looking at the Roucha Legio, which is how I came across Desmodus, and it's very tempting with it having distortion/shaping and filter in one smallish stereo module. It's a little pricey and I can't find much in the way of opinions at the moment but I guess I'll see how it goes with Desmodus, if the distortion there is enough then perhaps a cheaper filter will be all that's necessary.
I'm really glad you mentioned the output module, I realised that I do need one with an additional input so that I can incorporate my existing gear with the minimal connections I have available for the computer/speakers. I had some trouble finding one that had a) more than one stereo input, b) level for main out and c) level for headphones. There was one by 4ms that looked good but it's was bigger than I'd ideally want and a bit overkill so in the end I went for the Make Noise XOH. I'll see how this goes, seems like it will do everything I need at the moment and wasn't too expensive.
Thanks again, I'm starting to realise that this journey never ends and quickly becomes very expensive!
This is great to hear, I was worried it had been abandoned. I was very impressed with the alpha release and will definitely be using is when it matures a little.
My housemate is like that, came up with some nonsense about how he saw a video the other day about how there was climate change happen when the Vikings were around or something so it's not as clear cut as people think. And today, with it barely breaking 20 degrees in July, said half jokingly that we need more carbon. The shit summer here this year is fuel for his fire. Complete moron.
I think you need to dick around with flatseal and I didn't get it to work. Same though, deb package through AUR works well for me with yabridge and almost every plugin I try.
