  • Wow, is trance really considered niche? Your music is a perfect fit for so many aspects of life, and it's awful that the genre is completely flushed out with AI chill/focus/study playlists. I personally listen to Blue Turtle's AI-free fantasy playlists while I work. Back in the age of CDs I had so many trance mixes that I'd listen to driving or just zoning out in my bedroom. It's an incredible type of music that I hold near and dear.

The influx of AI everywhere IS distressing, but it's good you're in a better spot mentally now. I'd encourage you to keep creating. If not music, find an outlet to express yourself, even if The Plagiarism Machine can do it 1000x faster. Because creating is clearly important to you, or any artistically minded person. I enjoy TTRPGs and it's so satisfying to worldbuild, come up with scenarios for my players, and improvise at the table. Making stuff will both keep you sane and benefit those around you.

  • Noai. This program/poster/image is noai. Easy.

  • Viceroy Rosemary Garlic Butter's leadership is a harsh, but fair

  • I still need to buy my "When one of us is attacked, we all roll initiative" shirt

  • Casually ignoring that it considers art and magic to be the same

  • The Hallucinations Machine does as The Hallucinations Machine wants

  • what does Kash have to do with dogs now? I'd expect RFK or Kristi Noem here

  • You know, I hadn't considered the noise aspect, yeah. With little foliage by the river and stone walls (pretty as they may be), the noise of traffic would definitely be bouncing off the concrete right at that walkway unmitigated.

  • Genshin has a good model here. Level cap has been the same since day 1 (6 years) and the increasing difficulty comes from new types of challenges. WoW would obviously work differently, but you do gear progression until you can clear endgame, then new regions introduce new boss mechanics that you need different gear for. The old gear at the highest tier and excellent gameplay is enough to clear for like 3 years, but eventually you get powercrept and have to invest in new stuff.

  • Well, the sun makes a big difference in winter

  • Yeah it's obviously nicer with more walking space, but the bottom is clearly a nicer day

  • I drive an orange sub-SUV when I'm not driving my baby blue moped. And my wife drives a beige truck (she wanted the white one but it was more expensive with its addons)

  • I have fond memories of getting absolutely mournful coffee here

  • The sun is a deadly laser

  • This doesn't hold up. For you, personally, sure. But EVERYONE couldn't convert to dumpster diving. That's just shitty supermarkets.

I had this revelation about buying local. If EVERYONE "bought local", local farms begin looking like factory farms in order to produce enough for the local population. I'm certain there would be additional inefficiencies (moral atrocities) as a result. It's more ethical for me, personally, to get my produce locally, but I can't in good faith criticize anyone else that buys groceries on Amazon.

There's no ethical consumption under capitalism.

  • Hell fuckin yeah

  • Why the hell is a rare bacteria in the effluent anyway? Isn't this water just being used to cool electronics?

  • Sci-fi is a big umbrella that includes 1984 and Star Wars. But what about the non-Jedi parts of Star Wars that do deal with technology, ethics, politics, religion, and the human condition? Banning "future fantasy" would mean getting rid of things like Andor, which does have a lot to say and is much closer to 1984 than A New Hope.
