  • Buffy to me looks like a "know-it-all" teenager you'll never get through to, but they'll figure out their own way. They're fish owls!? Why do they look so confused wet.

  • I am thoroughly enjoying the Burrowing Owl campaign. I don't understand why they perform so poorly in OoTY, it is very odd. They must be easy to find bc they're in every nature documentary, maybe they're too well known, like Snowy, and this comm is more enchanted by the strigiformes they have less experience with. My big idea is that BO is playing a totally different game. They play a team sport, most owls play singles or doubles tennis, BO plays mesomerican ball game or Rugby, hacky sac? They don't even live around trees. Maybe the most expressive body language? Which is probably due to the social creatures with whom they coexist. They're crust punk squatters and don't even care about competition anyway.

  • I realized how many extra steps I was going through to mask, and that the end product, behavior, was made off wildly wrong assumptions about what people or situations expected of me. And when I realized that, I wanted that fucking time and energy back. I found my own language to describe my own thoughts and feelings and just put that out there. It's weird and vulnerable at first but my doctor seemed to understand. Meds made space in my brain to learn and unlearn different things. Stimulants helped get through the turmoil of chores. Anti-anxiety made the urge to please quieter. It's my life, I want to feel good in it, as authentic as possible, as comfortable and natural. I didn't know the color of my hair, had been dying it for 30 years, that was a nice surprise. Like they said, make the best of this, you should feel good. If something is hard, figure it out so it's easier from here on forever, think if how good it will feel when the hard thing today is easy. Reduce sugar

  • I think I'm All-In on the weirdos this year. Probably past years too, but I'm doing it on purpose this year. That third picture is amazing, what a transformation little free spirit, be whatever you want to be. "Majesty and drama" sounds like a 2026 vibe

    But then there's the Bubo and fish owls!? I don't really know what to do.

  • Partner once said "I don't believe in making the bed", to which, "You've met the dog right?". When they got a big 'ol sty, they realized 1+1=2. You ever seen the fan blades? Just flinging that all over the room. The blinds?

  • At least pull back the topmost layer, and pick up anything touching the floor. This is hygiene for me since I've always had pets, nasty little creatures, and allergies. Also change the pillow case every few days, without waiting until time for all sheets. And I really like my linens and quilts. These were hard fought habits, took a long time of trial and error to find the weights and fabrics I like. Some born from specific experiences. White particulates falling from the ceiling when people walk around upstairs, if it's happening in the window sills, it's happening on my pillows, and my face goes there.

    Grew up a duvet girly, but doing something more modular with the partner and I having different temperature preferences. My grandma had 16 pillows on her bed and slept with 1, bet her bed was clean, she outlived my mom, be like Pompom extra af.

  • I can recommend 21 rewatch podcasts, and share my playlists if you're ready to go Deep. I haven't actually started my rewatch yet, almost done prepping, been 2 months since I had the idea tho.. I really hope this isn't something I made too big and is overwhelming now

  • Yo. Buffy is peak tropes. The site "TV Tropes" was created for Buffy. Invented the term "Big Bad", the first episodic show to have an overarching story across the season. The only femme in the "Notable Examples" list of "The Chosen One" trope article on Wikipedia. Buffy is using every literary archetype, story diamond formula, and third thing, in its story telling. If you like process and figuring how things are made, Buffy changed everything in TV, and it's a worthy exercise to look at how and why.
