  • How many people do you think majored in gender studies? The biggest field by far is STEM. Engineers, scientists, mathematicians/physicists, and IT still find it hard to find a job and are facing unprecedented layoffs.

  • Same, and I was active on hobby forums where I answered questions. I feel bad for the people who responded to me year(s) later thanking me, but reddit doesn't need the SEO boost

  • I was about to ask why they put Leftists on there 8 times, but maybe it's just us!

  • Because the terminology is Master and Slave. That's been device terminology for half a century, and has been phased out over the last decade. It's silly to complain that they would change it.

I now say Primary and Secondary for device terminology, and Main, Stage, and Dev for branch terminology. It doesn't impact my daily life enough to be mad they don't keep Master/Slave terminology.

  • Yeah, Mac is a competent *NIX BSD system. The problem is the price and lack of control. Anyone who thinks Mac isn't on the Linux side 50% of the time hasn't used it.

Work only gives me the option between Mac and Windows, and I'll pick the *NIX 100% of the time.

    They're definitely swapped

  • It's because they're mixing dialogue for the center channel speaker. Most people don't have a center channel on their TV or sound bar, but some "Dialogue Mode"s will exclusively play the center channel and drown out the sound effects. It's a trade off, but one that most manufacturers don't even give the option for.
