I installed an ultrasonic Sensor at the lowest segment of the garage door. It mostly does it's job, though it is unreliable when the door is fully open, as the sensor tilts towards the open end and the distance is then too long. Also someone standing in the opening might block the sensor.
You forgot the large costs of operating, the large costs of maintaining, the large costs of nuclear waste disposal and the large costs of deconstruction of nuclear plants.
Yeah, other than that it's a great viable way for few very large companies to make great guaranteed profits as the tax payer will take care of the risks.
You ever seen Enemy at the Gates? The opening scene where they're killing soldiers for jumping off boats and then giving every other soldier a gun, with the next ammo. Sending them into a slaughter of machine gun fire and shooting anyone who returns...
Sorry to bust your bubble, but those scenes are not historically correct.
If all the subsidiaries that went into nuclear power the last few decades went to renewables instead Germany would have no issues at all, but hey... giving tax payer money to some very few giant energy companies is more important than creating a Europe leading renewables energy sector that does not rely on russian fossils or nuclear material.
You should know that nuclear power is very expensive while renewables are absurd crazy cheap. I've been to a German Endlager and it takes years and BILLIONS of Euros just to seal this thing off. Guess who is paying? Mostly tax payers.
There's be no company in Germany which would be willing to run a nuclear power plant if they were responsible for the permanent disposal of their waste on their own instead of letting the tax payer pay (most of) for it.
