I’m replaying Dark Souls III at the moment, and it’s every bit as good as I remember. I’m currently going through the Ashes of Ariandel DLC for the first time, as I’ve only ever played the base game before. Highly recommended
Mechanical watches. Most people don’t understand just how expensive they can get, outside of the ones with diamonds all over them, nor why they’re so expensive. Most people also don’t understand how expensive it is to be allowed to buy certain models, depending on the model and the dealer you’re buying from. Also, watch repairs and regular servicing of mechanical watches is something most people don’t consider, and the price of tools if you want to do it yourself can be very expensive and require a lot of skill.
Not sure if you’ve ever tried classical music on Apple Music or Spotify but it’s awful. Those apps aren’t at all designed for classical. You kinda need a different app for that. They bought Primephonic a while ago and promised to make their own classical music app, and took a good long while doing it, but it finally came and I downloaded it immediately. If you know your stuff with classical it’s far easier now to find specific recordings, and if you just listen to it casually or are wanting to discover new classical music it’s good for that too.
Seconding the Souls games. Even though you’re on a quest to do something important and big, the game does absolutely everything it can to make you feel worthless. I saw a good quote, something around the lines of “most games ask you to beat them. They’re designed to be beaten. Dark Souls tells you it’s impossible and dares you to try” which sounds like what OP is wanting
What made Redfall so bad? I haven’t really heard anything about the game other than that it was a massive disappointment. Is it just that Arkane usually does a fantastic job and so when they didn’t it was perceived as worse than it was? Or is it genuinely a bad game?
I recently replayed Dishonored and a bit of the second one (I think around half of it iirc). The first one is one of my favourite games I think, it’s so good. I forgot just how much I loved it. I still haven’t touched the third one though, and it’s been a few years since I completed the second one
My first thought is definitely Valiant Hearts: The Great War. That one, I found, to be devastatingly sad. Regularly on sale for super cheap, including right now. Also available on mobile if you prefer
I only played the first Half-Life about 6 months ago despite having friends who grew up playing it. Well worth the wait, it was fantastic (I played Black Mesa to be fair, not the original Half-Life, but I’ve heard they’re near identical). That’s definitely my longest. The main other one is Dark Souls, I’ve been wanting to play it since it came out and only started it a month ago. I’ve played DS3, Elden Ring, and Sekiro, but this is my first time with DS1.
OOP is definitely grossly incandescent
