I started playing Superliminal a week or so ago but got stuck at one point and started a playthrough of Dark Souls, whoops. It was a pretty fun game though, I should finish it.
I haven’t heard of that second one, but I don’t have VR so maybe that’s why.
If by little monsters you mean Little Nightmares, that’s probably next on my list of games to play. If you do in fact mean little monsters, I haven’t heard of it but I’ll check it out tonight.
The Alien Cube sounds pretty awesome from how you’ve described it. I’ll definitely be checking that one out.
I’ll be bitter about Bloodborne not being on PC until the day they release it on Steam. I’ll look more into the other ones though. I think I own Control already so I might play that one soon
I totally forgot to mention Portal. After leaving the test levels in the second one especially was really on-point, and probably what started my love for these types of games. The first one also did it really well too.
I’ve got Little Nightmares on Steam but haven’t played it yet. I’ll definitely download it soon. I played the mobile one (Very Little Nightmares) and loved it.
I’ve heard of Far: Lone Sails but don’t know much about it. I’ll check it out; thanks! I’ll also look into Darq
I saw Iron Pineapple play Salt & Sanctuary, along with a million other souls-likes, I’ve got that one and several others on my wishlist and kind of forgot about them until your comment. Thanks for the reminder
I’ve got this one on my steam backlog. I played the mobile one and really enjoyed it. Currently going through a SoulsBorne phase but I’m thinking of checking out this one next.
I’m not sure exactly how far you are but it’s possible you’ve locked yourself into the Shura ending, in which case you’ve locked yourself out of the final location in the game. Shura ends the game quite a bit early, actually. It is still a great experience though and the Shura-specific bosses are awesome.
I’m glad to hear you’re enjoying your time, it truly is a masterpiece.
I know you’ve already been given some opinions but I thought I’d just share one myself too.
If you plan on playing all three anyway, just do it in order. It’s what makes the most sense I think. They’re all kind of standalone (for the most part) so it doesn’t really matter the order but I always like to play a series chronologically if I plan on playing the whole thing anyway, plus most diehard fans I know would say the first is the best one.
If you’re not sure if you’ll actually go through the whole series or not, DS3 is probably the easiest to get into. The game becomes one of the hardest FromSoft games they’ve made, but it starts pretty tame by SoulsBorne standards. It takes quite a while before it really gets “souls hard” too, though the difficulty spike is quite extreme.
At the end of the day, they’re all excellent and you’ll be treated to an incredible and unique experience unlike anything you’ve tried before, no matter what you do, and I hope that one day we’ll get to read a post or comment from you about how incredible of an experience it was for you to go through the series. Afterwards you can play through Demon’s Souls through a PS3 emulator (or on an actual PS3, or the remake on PS5, if you have either console). Elden Ring is also an incredible SoulsBorne game. And Sekiro, while completely different, is tremendous. I’m thinking of writing up a post about it tonight or tomorrow actually
I haven’t played the remastered but I think I own it. I’ve never been one to care about graphics so I was happy to play the original just as is. BO2 was always my favourite growing up but since playing through (nearly) the whole series, I’d say either MW1 or BO1 is my favourite
I’ve heard really good things about that one. Good to know it fits what I described, I’ll be checking it out for sure. Thanks!
