  • plus just means more I think, they're adding to their service so it's "plus"

just because that's usually a hook to get you to pay more doesn't mean that's now the definition of the word

  • flatliners

  • yeah they didn't say they were removing the start menu, they just said the new feature will be as central to the user experience. and predictably every reply is "lol STUPID MICRO$HIT"

people really want something to be mad about

  • Eliyahu also voices his objection during the interview to allowing any humanitarian aid into Gaza, saying “we wouldn’t hand the Nazis humanitarian aid,”

you are the Nazis at this point mate.

  • yeah the issue honestly is how much someone else has to read to understand your code. it's weird because the whole article is about making readable code for the next person and he never stops to address the fact that leaving 10x as much code to read might also make life more difficult.

I feel like he just wanted to make a point about how it's nice to make types immutable and suggest other techniques can be worth implementing too, which I agree with, but honestly his premise is a trainwreck.

  • what features do you miss?

  • I wonder if this assumes the cracker knows how long etc the password is when they start cracking.

I always make my passwords "a" because I figure they'll start cracking attempts at 5 characters 😁

  • what about when you're on your phone?

  • win+. will bring it up in windows

  • I'm happy people are sharing stuff to Lemmy, it's been a little quiet.

I definitely value the Forbes article over the MSN but we might not be talking about it if we hadn't seen this post. let's not be too critical when people are participating positively.

  • this is one of his best so far!

  • wow could you be any more up your own ass. I mean I use both but I don't think I'm Jesus for knowing what systemd is.

  • I think it was the most honest portrayal of mental illness in a show I've ever seen. not judgy about shit either and didn't make it the only defining feature of a character. the writing was excellent.

  • I think it's just a Hollywood cliche with enough truth it plays out in the real world here and there. a lot of the show was a commentary on LA culture and how it'll swallow people.

there are a lot of parallels here but I'm sure it's a coincidence, but it shows how right the series got it.

that show really hit me. I feel really bad for Matthew Perry, I didn't know anything about his struggles until now and it's really sad. the world really eats some people alive.

  • great episode. I honestly think of it often.

  • back in the 90s I was in a very famous teeeeveeeee showww

  • but the E literally stands for emulator

    (I'm kidding)

  • Panik

    Jump
  • I actually really like this. 17 is three less than 20, 20x3 is 60, 3x3 is 9, 51 is 60-9. It just feels nice how it all fits together.

  • that's literally the whole point of this?

the point of this is a new youtube is unlikely to take off because people can't start using it without missing all their regular content.

this means you can keep all your regular content and add new sources, with the same creators, which means they can start to move to new platforms and take their followers. that's how we'll replace youtube.
