Sorry for the nitpick, but you probably mean GB/s (or GiB/s, but I won't go there). Gbps is gigabits per second, not gigabytes per second.Since both are used in different contexts yet they differ by about a factor of 8, not confusing the two is useful.

You can make sudo password-less for a single command (including using specific arguments) though, so even if using sudo were the only solution, it wouldn't be that bad. For example, I have a sudoers entry that allows my user to decrypt my ZFS pool by executing a root-owned script (with permissions 700), but everything else requires a password.
Unless you've changed your vault encryption settings (which is not a bad idea!) it will likely decrypt rather quickly.I changed mine to Argon2id with settings such that one iteration takes over one second (on a Ryzen 5800X3D, about the same on my phone), since I don't unlock it very often.
Money doesn't solve everything. The probably have way more issues with stalkers and death threats than any of us do, for example. Even with hired security that can't feel very good.
It's always possible to re-encode video; it's usually called transcoding. However, you lose a bit of quality every time you encode, so you might not gain much in the end. You can offset a bit of the quality loss by encoding at a higher bitrate/quality factor/etc than you otherwise would, but that of course takes up extra space.
LCD for extra brightness? I don't think you've been keeping up as mobile OLEDs are usually brighter than mobile LCDs. Not that there are many LCDs left.

I'm all for open source services, but realistically, what potential issues are there with using GitHub?Every contributor has a copy of the Git repo, so isn't the worst case basically losing access to issues and similar data? And even that is very unlikely.
That's in bytes. A modern NVMe drive can do about 7 GB/s (more than 10 for PCIe 5.0 drives). Even SATA could handle 5 Gbit/s, though barely.
