Indie game dev

posting things from the 160+ rss feeds I follow. You should see me post links in two chunks for when im reading stuff, once in the morning and once in the evening ET. If you want some of my sources for certain communities feel free to dm

Pfp is Lucie from battlerite

  • What frontend/app is that?

Standard lemmy behaviour is to collapse posts into the same post when theyre beside each other in the feed and its recommended to crosspost between communities in programming.dev

Any client that isnt following the collapsing behaviour isnt following how lemmy-ui works so I can open an issue in their repo

  • Game 2: Voice of Flowers

    https://store.steampowered.com/app/2609560/Voice_of_Flowers/

Nature of the world has withered away due to magic-absorbing crystals.

Play as Hana, a cat-like member of magic-attuned kemime race, in her grand adventure to restore the magic to the world. Explore long-forgotten ruins of ancient civilizations and gain power in order to overthrow technological empire that feeds on the world's misery. Meet friends and enemies as you traverse across 8+ vast lands seeking the destruction of crystals that killed the nature.

  • Game 1: Far Star

    https://store.steampowered.com/app/1922990/Far_Star/

Far Star is a story-driven action-adventure game with Metroidvania influences. There is something fishy going on in this galaxy, but this won’t stop your intergalactic general services crew from doing their job using a varied set of skills, weapons and outfits.

  • The main language is GDScript rather than either of them (although the engine itself is coded in C++). C# support was added on since microsoft gave them money to do it

  • Don't think the dev has a name for it yet (and it still in progress), they've just been sharing progress on reddit

  • Godot and Bevy are both FOSS. Godot is built in C++ and allows using GdScript and C++, or C#. Bevy is built in Rust and allows using Rust

  • They removed charging again for deleting and reinstalling but are still charging for installing on a different device. So they just realized that there's no way to enforce the former without people abusing it

  • just upscaled it so shouldnt be blurry anymore

  • Not the dev so youll have to ask that in the youtube comments, just wanted to share it

  • My bad misspelled the link, should be good now

  • Weird, heres the content in it

It is with immense sadness that we must share with you the news of the loss of our friend, our leader, and our mentor, Kris Nóva.

It was Nóva who inspired us to come together to build Hachyderm, whose vision created Nivenly, and whose mission we continue to carry forward. In her working life beyond Nivenly, she has left behind a legacy of professionalism and strength of vision, and we all miss her terribly.

This is very fresh and raw for us in the Nivenly community right now, so we ask for patience while we figure out how we move forward. But move forward we will, as we know that is what Nóva would want.
