  • I'm not a concert person but a band I liked in high school was touring and I figure I'd try it. Everyone was all dressed in black with glowing horns and stuff. Is that goth? I don't know anything.

Had a great time though. I'll go the next time they're in town.

I never really liked the hard songs but the guy next to me. He just flung himself into dancing with the song. He showed me how to love it. Eye opening.

  • I felt the same way about the characterization. I thought it might be a translation thing. I don't know that many folks that read it in Chinese, but I'm leaning towards "no, it's just like that."

It's a fun series to read a wiki about.

  • It is every citizen's final duty to go into the tanks and become one with all the people.

  • It's not for everyone. I like it because I'm old and grumpy.

  • I like it more than pineapple anywhere else.

  • Not sure why tasty is cheating, but cool.

  • Sounds right.

  • I have an in-law who's a vegan and explained it as "if I consume less there's a tiny bit less cruelty. A tiny bit less demand." I like that. It's not about purity. It's about trying.

I'm still not vegan. I suppose that doesn't say good things about me.

  • Bitter gourd curry. Was so so so bitter. I'll bet it tastes different to different folks.

Reminds me of a migraine medicine. I have to eat candy for a few hours after taking that.

  • I worked for a self publishing company long, long ago. It turns out, most of our best selling authors made NSFW stuff. Eventually our payment processor complained. So our CFO called around to a bunch of big porn companies and asked them which payment processors they used. Those companies were fine.

A guide book to female domination. Some sissy stuff with mature cover art. Right next to history books and Earthbound fan art. I felt good about it. Serving a real need.

A shame we never got Chuck.

  • I use Arch and i3. It's old but it's set up the way I like it. I've spent maybe an hour in the past year poking at os stuff. Seems plenty stable to me.

  • Oh that hurts to read.

  • I got halfway through the second book and it just wasn't what I wanted anymore. My brother told me to keep going but it's been a while.

  • That was fucking fantastic.

  • Thanks for that video. It was fun!

  • I'm less interested in the average across all text. Lots of corporate bullshit maybe.

Im more interested in % of speakers with an average higher than... 1:100 or something.

  • Oh wild. When I first saw this on lemmy it was white and gold. Then I clicked the image and looked and thought, "yeah, that's what I figured." Then I scrolled up and it was blue and brown. Can see white and gold again. Fun.

  • I've read a bunch from both authors and think your point checks out. Gainan has much more variety. I'm not sure it matters though.

My guess, worthless as it is, is that Gaiman's best works celebrated the marginalized. Loved them and taught you to love them. Respected them. His work taught people that his actions are terrible.

On the other hand, Stardust. Maybe my guess is totally wrong. Shrug
