  • Oh I love to ask that as a conversation starter. One time someone got me so hooked into crabfication I presented a whole seminar about it at uni.

  • Them he's betting.yhst the economy will crash, basically, and we're okay with that shit.

Why should someone not be able to short some stock? The AI bubble will burst anyway.

Also, he doesn't have one billion dollars, he manages an investment fund that people collectively put a billion dollars (or more) there.

  • Yes, very much so. Everyone here talked at length about this already, but I remembered the book Flowers for Algernon, which, among several other more significant things in the book, talks about this.

I really recomend you read the book before this spoiler, since it kinda kills the moment.

At the very end of the book the main character knows only that they bring flowers to a grave everyday, but don't remember who's burried. And it's one of the few moments media made me cry. because memory issues hit me really hard.

  • I'm from Brazil and I'm very happy to have almost fluent english and crappy spanish.

It's also quite useful. Not only is english spoke everywhere online, but there where cases where my spanish was useful for my job.

  • The point is that they wouldn't have won if there wasn't a trans person competing. They would, at most, get fourth place. AOC was considerably diminishing the feeling of injustice (in comparison to not getting first place).

  • The reason the survey shows that many canadian people is probably much simpler. The survey was hosted on lemmy.ca

OP didn't knew a lemmy server was federated with other lemmy servers. They thought lemmy was centralized and canadian

  • Pretty sure a car is supposed to go "vroom vroom" instead of "tuk tuk". But idk, I'm not a car person

  • Literally just got a 300% raise from switching

  • Where is this from?

  • I've developed it in rust!

I made it because I needed an interpreted language in rust and didn't want to use lua, and because I just like doing it :)

I'd done some languages before, but just some very simple assembly-like stuff

This one has functions, control flow, closures, scoped variables and such. Also, it's stack based! Which is interesting for me and hell for the users (also me, lmao)

Sadly I won't post it here because it has my full legal name attached :(

They probably wouldn't seed it, but I really don't want to risk it

  • :%s for changing a string on the entire file (I think it also works with selections instead of entire file)

    :m+{num} to move a line

:tabe to open another tab (not split)

    :te open terminal

:wqa write and quit all buffers (will fail with non-writrable buffer, like a terminal, sadly)

    :!{shell command} execute

:r!{shell command} execute and write to current buffer

    :cd change directory

Not a command, but useful to remember % means current file (eg. :!rm %)

I'm 19, and the plan is to learn all before 200

  • There are a lot of things that people won't understand [...] it seems silly to expect the creator to "get it".

The creator said they had done research into this. Not only that, if you don't know the rate of bisexual man, just leave it the same as woman of something. And even if it's wrong it doesn't change anything (until Biotech)

  • A few months ago I started working on an interpreted programming language. It's not particularly polished, but it helped me get a new job!

  • (A friend of mine loves the book and said this about the review)

It is incredibly creepy. Despite the Creature’s superhuman intelligence and ability to understand and learn about human social mores

The creature hardly had super intelligence, It learnt to speak because someone else was beeing taught and it heard them. And even if it had super intelligence, how would it know how to present it self? All interactions they ever had where:

    Hi

    AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

edit: Also, about the creature it asked for:

My friend says all that the monster ever recieved was desdain and hate. But then it saw the family and learnt what it was. Learnt that someone could be loved, so it asked the father for it. Then, when the family saw it and etc. It asked Frankenstein to make them a family. And they didn't think the new creature could not love them, since the only thing that people hate is the appearance.

And the creature is violent because the only thing is knows is violence, it was born and it's creator screamed and ran away. It started walking around and people hated it. It kills the brother because they where a Frankenstein (the same name as it's creator and torturer[1]) and framing justine because everyone hates it and it hates them back (what else could it do?)

[1]: Frankenstein is 100% a torturer, he created a living thing so abhorrent people would hate it and run away. And you can't say he didn't knew it would turn out so ugly, he literally built it.

  • Oh she used to buy the dough and loads of meat and make pastel. She'd also put olives and eggs from time to time. Never found a pastel that tasted so good ❤️

  • I don't remember the name, but the being hanged by chains attached to your skin thing is really weird

  • What are you doing?
