  • Unethical, but insightful. The bot took on fake identities and made up lies that strike at people's emotions to change their views. Unethical because it can manipulate real people (or other bot accounts) using made up facts or scenarios. Insightful because other bots are already doing this; they're just not disclosing it. There are more ethical ways to run this study. This was just the cheap and easy way.

    Edit: spelling :p

  • I think more people need to approach it like this. Human's minds are designed to think with their group and resistant to change. If you actually want to change minds, insults and accusations will immediately put them into fight mode and they will defend their ideology. But if you don't attack their ideals and approach in a friendly kind of way, it will lead them to questioning their leader's choices. It's hard, I know. Their leader has made some shoot-themselves-in-the-foot choices and makes their conviction an easy target to attack. Insults and attacks may even be a way of letting off steam, but if you actually want change, it has to be a smart and kinder approach. It won't be an immediate change, but it will be gradual and large over time.

  • I know this not because I paid attention in history class, but because I played Fallout 76 where the vault dwellers celebrate America's Tricentennial before leaving the vault and find it a wasteland.

  • The spikey succulent is a Euphorbia Trigona. We have one of those. It's one of the few plants we haven't killed. It could probably go more than a month without water, but weekly light watering shouldn't harm it. Just no more than that. The leaves are seasonal and will fall off and grow again. We have ours getting half light on our East window, but it has done well in periods of only indirect light. It doesn't require too much care and likes being root bound. They can grow very tall and narrow.

  • Once you feed the wildlife, they will expect to be fed more. Once they lose the fear of humans, they DEMAND to be fed more.

  • Step One: Provide an exceptional but unprofitable service.

Step Two: Drive out all competition because business model is unprofitable. Become the only service users want and become invested into.

Step Three: Enshitify to show the model can be profitable to investors. Users will not leave because they are already invested and competition is not strong.

Step Four: Go public, while continuing to Enshitify.

  • The singing in the Return to Moria game is spot on. Easily one of the best and unique parts of the game. Made mining less monotonous and added a kick to downtime before sleeping and starting a new day. Although, the game is not as good when playing alone.

Ale of Shining Gold is fun. Song of Durin hits harder if you've played through the game.

I'm cool just saying I suspect I'm autistic, probably not though. Lovely weather, right?(moves Legos to hidden basement room and encrypts Minecraft and Satisfactory saves)

  • Can NYT or someone sue for libel? That's defamation with false information. I'm not looking for a fine, but an order requiring them to say they were wrong and published false information. Then NYT can publish that tweet in their headline.

  • ALL THE SEPIA INFOGRAPHICS ARE EASY ON MY HUMAN EYES. SUCH CONSIDERATION FOR HUMAN HEALTH.

  • Not gonna play the "carry all the groceries in one trip" game greater than 100 yards (1 football field (514 bananas))

  • Also, the newer massive trucks that are so high they blind anyone lower than them regardless of how properly it's configured.

  • I mean, find a nice piece of land, build your shelter, no one bothers you about property tax or reports you to the HOA. Maybe a land ownership dispute, but even if you lose, as long as you live past that, you can setup somewhere else.
