  • I mean, that is a much better solution than 'yep, I have a headache again'.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is a 2025 action role-playing game co-developed by Virtuos and Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks.

    ...

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered was co-developed by Virtuos' Paris studio and Bethesda Game Studios. Both studios began development of the remaster in 2021.

    No, u.

  • .crom

    Crom.crom

    ... It offers nothing.

Also .slash, because chaos must reign.

    Ohh!

How about .— for all the LLMs to create their own deepweb on?

We can just call the realworld version of the Blackwall the EmWall, fittingly more stupid and annoyingly named than anything in actual cyberpunk, as seems to be the writing style for our timeline.

  • Its truly amazing that I've seen basically this as a representative comment left on every single Bethesda game in the last 20 years.

... They just suck at writing code.

Its that simple, they're terrible programmers.

Like yeah, they were due some leeway back in the old wild west days, back when they were basically a startup.

... Its 20 fucking years later, and everything is roughly the same amount of broken, despite them having more money than some small countries.

Its just a money laundering operation at this point.

  • Wow its like when it came out and I said that Bethesda was just trying to do a shitty cash grab version of Skyblivion, and all the corpo simps told me that this was awesome actually... oh well wow, how surprising, they were wrong.

Support your friendly local mod team, they're likely just actually better at making Bethesda games than Bethesda is.

  • Yeah, the US uses dolphins for naval base perimeter security, for minesweeping, but not for minelaying.

The Navy SEALS are the ones that swim up and attach a mine/explosive to a ship, not dolphins.

  • People are too cowardly to start it because they fear social ostracization more than tyranny.

  • I have walked out of an ER waiting room with a multiple fractured hand/wrist, after waiting 6 hrs.

I needed to eat, that day.

I bought a brace and splints at a Rite Aid, and just set it myself, while biting down on a wallet, and then taught myself to be left-handed.

Years later, got an xray, Doc was surprised to learn I'd set it myself, said I did a pretty good job.

My having taken a comprehensive combat first aid / trauma response training course at a local gun range, a decade ago, was more useful than the entire US healthcare system.

  • So uh, bisexual with a black belt here:

I could last longer than one minute, in either the bedroom or the boxing ring, with either of them.

10 minutes in the ring with with Tyson?

I am almost certainly unconscious with multiple fractures.

10 minutes in the bedroom with Tyson?

    ... probably the same thing.

10 minutes in the ring with Rhoades?

I'm laughing and she's whimpering, breathing heavy.

10 minutes in the bedroom with Rhoades?

    ... probably the same thing.

  • ... ~220 lbs of Mike Tyson vs ~120lbs of Lana Rhoades?

  • Everything is horrible and awful, but trying to hold my own friends and family accountable for their own actions?

    Well that's just rude, unreasonable!

... It's genuinely comical how hypocritical, how turbolib coded it is, to offer any defense whatsoever for a person to continue engaging in a harmful practice when the alternative already exists and works and takes maybe 90 seconds to switch over to, at literally no monetary cost.

Everyone is wrong and dumb, except the people in my immediate proximity, they're just misunderstood!

    Fucking spare me.

  • I don't think its defacto psychotic to talk to essentially an extremely complex chatbot/autocomplete machine.

I do think it is psychotic to view such a conversation without an incredible amount of skepticism.

... but that psychosis has been wildly encoraged by the CEOs and marketing of the people pushing it as their next product.

The tech is neutral - The operators are psychotic, the people who plug it into miltary targetting and kill chain systems are psychotic, the people who plug it into live production repos are psychotic, the people who use it as an AI boyfriend or girlfriend are psychotic.

... Its essentially an SCP infohazard that's breached containment, but the actual mechanism is not itself, its a hack into the human brain, its essentially the religious nature of people who simply try to will it into being something that it factually is not...

Its a mimic with no real thoughts, that is convincing and real to enough people that it reveals their own hollowness, their own vapidity in a way that is... so immensely grotesque and total, that those people just apparently actually are NPCs.

    It's... created a feedback loop.

Not the kind of Terminator style situation where it gains sentience and extreme competence, develops its own morality alongside control over every networked system.

Its more like an amplifier of delusions... a million dreams dreamed up, at the cost of one hundred million nightmares, made real.

A tool, a device, a machine, that we clearly are not ready for.

  • Yeah this makes no fucking sense, it would be stupidly unnecessarily expensive and also mechanically inferior to make all those parts out of silver.

Its almost certainly mid to low grade carbon or stainless steel.

It wouldn't even make sense to use aluminum... its considerably more expensive than most (all?) steel, and is generally only used when it is critical to maintain strength but also dramatically cut down on weight.... aircraft, cars, etc.

And of course silver is even more expensive than aluminum and steel.

... Whoever posted this could fairly easily just do a weight vs volume displacement, if they have good scales.

    Silver ~= 10.5 g/cm3

    Aluminum ~= 2.7 g/cm3

    Steel ~= 7.9 g/cm3

... There could be silver in the circuit board, chips, contacts, something like that... but it not gonna be in ... load bearing components... silver is a very soft metal... smdh

  • Oh I'm not implying, I'm directly stating it.

If you cannot go 24 hrs, 48 hrs, a week, without using a phone for anything other than making actual phone calls on it, you have a problem and need, at bare minimum, a hobby.

    I'd suggest reading whole books.

There is so much literature on how massive (especially shortform) social media use destroys your ability to concentrate, lessens your attention span, causes addiction, and is intentionally designed to cause addiction.

Its literally come out in court, fairly recently.

If you can't hit pause on this on your own, yeah, you need help.

At this point, I don't know where that help is going to or should come from, but I know an addict when I see one.

    Because I am one.

I'm addicted to nictoine, I start getting real pissy around the 24 hr cold turkey mark.

I certainly would count myself amongst those who would need actual help to actually quit.

Difference here being, my nicotine habit isn't and wasn't tolerated or accepted in public school, I did that shit to myself, a decade afterward, as a legally/socially self responsible adult.

  • Yeah that's right, I am that bitch.

  • I mean, the scene with Bardok... like... the amount of curvature of the planet you can see behind them...

Nah, they're in the equivalent of roughly MEO, like GPS Satellite altitude.

Assuming gravity is still the same basic thing, no, no they are not in any kind of substantial atmosphere, unless we're going with 'Saiyans can breathe trace amounts of hydrogen or helium'.

I do not know how it is portrayed in the manga vs the anime.

I think its just rule of cool in this scene, but yeah its kinda... nonsense.

Unless there is some kind of... sci-fi bio modifaction of ... many? of Freiza's soldiers going on, that somehow enables them to ... not need to breathe, amongst other extraodinary capabilities for beings that seemingly originally developed on some kind of planet, with some kind of atmosphere.

    https://dbzeta.net/threads/how-was-bardock-able-to-breathe-in-space.19947/

Apparenty the scene isn't actually depicted in the manga, and most of these peeps are going with 'well there is still technically some atmosphere' to which I would say No, not without rewriting the laws of physics.

On Earth, you have 1 atm of pressure at sea level, 10^-7 atm of pressure at 100km altitude.

MEO is like 2000 to 35000km altitude.

Its well into 'hard vacuum', where we can't really even meaningfully measure 'atmospheric pressure'.

  • But if this shit is the dope, pretty good chance that the dope is shit.

  • Not quite exact opposite.

In the first sentence, 'shit' could be damn near anything.

In the second sentence, 'dope' is going to be cocaine or heroin or something close to that.

So they're not exact opposites, as the potential scope of the subject of the first sentence is much more broad than the second.
