  • No . Pepole do not understand that. Pepole are dumb as f. Not everyone but there is more than sufficient number of pepole that have nothing saved up to call for better financial literacy. There are pepole living from paycheck to paycheck that make more than a hundred thousand dollars per year without any money saved up. Like i said the rapid cost of living crisis and the financial literacy are not colleralted. So long as there are pepole dumb enough to spend money in the casino or even worse on gachas so long there is not enough financial literacy. Is it to simple to call it financial literacy. Frankly speaking yes , it should be called something like personal finances but thats the term that everyone uses and i really dont give enough f about the name. Are there financialy literate pepole that have fallen on due to bad circumstances. Yes. Of course they are. Particulary young pepole that just dont have enough time to build their war chest . But it dosent change the fact that those pepole due to their better ability to deal with their personal finances have better chance to recover. It just as simple. Does that solve the underlaying systematic problem. Not really. But it allows pepole to better deal with said problem. Better is the enemy of good.

  • I mean they are correct. You should try to save up enough money to be able to live 2 ( or even 3 ) months without salary. Regardless of your political opinion on how a system we live in should be you should try to do that just for your own benefit and safety sake.

    Besides one statment dosent exclude the other. Once again regardless of your opinions abut the system we live in pepole should have basic financial literacy to know that they should save up some money and not use credit cards as much as possible and other basic stuff ( you would be suprised how many pepole have no idea how it works or why you should save money instead of treating credit cards with horrendus intrest rates as you emergency fund )

  • By console controlers i meant first party console controlers. So dualshock,dualsense, official xbox controlers or switch pro controler ( Most commonly xbox , alghtough recently i saw uptick in recomending PlayStation controlers ). The 3rd party controlers are either poor quality or just as expensive and quite often both ( which is probably why console official controlers are recommended as sort of stamp of quality )

  • But that's my point. Pepole abandoning pc all together are likely for lack of the better word normies that are very very unlikely to use linux. Wheras pepole who are sticking with PC for whatewer reasons are more likely to be in a group that uses linux. Its just a hypotesis tho , nothing more than a mere speculation.

  • I mean its good enough just as a quick setting menu like in kilzone. I wonder why more games dont use it as such. I would love to have it as quick setting in cyberpunk so i can quickly change between grenade rocket launcher and the camuflage ( or to be precise map whatewer i need there , thats just my particular build ).

  • Yeach i have a high suspicion a lot of those gains is not ( or not only ) beacuse linux is gaining popularity but beacuse desktop pcs are loosing one. Especialy if the methodology is based on web stats ( i myself quite often use smartphone to browse even if i actually use pc right now to do whatewer im doing right now ).

  • I think europe in general has above average usage of Firefox. It did not die there as much. Alghtough germany is certainly above average in that regard.

  • Yup i see that complaint very often and i do not understand where pepole get it. The r2 l2 whatewer its called thingy is probably the most used new controler feature since analog became a thing ( or perhaps speaker on the controler. Thats used quite extensivly since dualshock 4 ).

    The touchpad is still usless tho despite it being a thing since ps4.

  • They are not good at least partialy beacuse of sony which apparently actively sabotaged them. At least dualshock 4 . It may be better with dualsense alghtough i doubt it .

    Also another cavieat is that they unfortunetly are quite affordable for what they offer. Even on pc the recommendation is usualy to buy console controler ( alghtough not nessearily current gen one ). They truly pack quite a bit of technology in them.

  • I will also add one thing. It does depend on how much money you have . In modern world what you realy pay for is convinience. So if you dont want to make soap( im going with this example beacuse it arguably the most extreme ) because its cheap and not worth your time than buy it but if you live in a 3rd world country and need to save every penny than go for it. Likewise there is no need for you to cheap out on some subscription if you have steady income and milions of $ in the bank account

  • There are still some obscure games that dont work ( or are hard enough to setup that i couldnt do it ) on linux regardless of anticheat. Sins of solar empire and knights and mechants in my case were particulary problematic if i remember correctly.

  • Yeach the ui sucked, kinda sucked. I actually kinda liked it on 8.1 . But the one thing windows 8 did right was efficiency. I still remember my update from windows 8 to 10 when witcher 3 on my laptop went from barerly playbale to unplaybale. Sad story.

  • I actually use it like that. I dont really see the reason pepole hate it so much. Geniuenly a better place for it (mind you im only talking about placement. The design itself is something else ). Since generaly if you use start menu you focus on it to launch something so it might as well be in tge middle of your screen.

  • I for one dont see the fault in the design itself. Geniuenly looks like something usefull for pepole that use lots of tools.

    If not for the fact that it already exist in the goddam pinned section in start menu and it replaces all items menu. Whyyy? These are not replecable by each other.
