"then" is used to depict time, sequence or a causal relationship. "than" is used with comparative adjectives, to depict comparison.

  • That shouldn't be the case, sure you can find some other volcano on the planet, no?Oh right, perhaps there were no Geologists among the Elves/Dwarves. Were they not?

  • I'm pretty sure that won't be the case.Their real intent won't be to enforce it on self-installable systems, but more like, to enable companies to make that thing mandatory on systems that they sell. And since the companies want to do so, they will use it to create a "verification" system that helps them feed people's everyday face data to AI, to enable doing studies on people's face changes depending upon various stimuli that said companies will be collectively applying to those people.

    e.g.

    • if you have a period and it is showing on your face, then the next time you need to pick up your phone, the AI will know you have one.
    • you got a tattoo anywhere visible, now they know that
    • they know the rate at which your facial hair grows and how much you get it cut, so when you open your phone after shaving/trimming/salon-stuff, the company now has that in its database

This is corresponding to PayPal et al. starting with requiring a selfie to "verify" that it's you.Well guess what happens when one of those AI companies gets an order from someone that wants to systematically frame you for paying for something illegal via PayPal? They get the highest quality AI selfie generated such that even your mother won't know it isn't you.Oh and don't go on saying they won't want to do that. Cell Phone service providers will make fake claims of their customers having activated VAS, just for a few extra pennies a month (this is already happening, even without AI).

  • Yes

Or maybe just someone fooled by said pretenders.

  • and the working classes control the state

I find it hard to believe that the majority of the working class people consider territorial expansion to be good for anyone in this age.

  • Heyyy! No spoilers. Now they don't have the drive to read my extremely lengthy comment explaining the situation and then trying to guess my country from that.

  • Perhaps because you are not in spaces where people do so, trying to make Socialism and Communism sound stupid to make other people uninterested in others that would talk about it.

It might even be a part of someone's misinformation campaign, really. The same place had people calling themselves Muslim and trying to make others angry at them, in ways that it would increase -ive sentiment towards the religion itself.

Simply put, the moment you put a buzzword onto anything (like any *-ism), that opens it to be grouped with anything anyone might claim it to be. And that's why one needs to make sure to explain what they mean by the word, every time they want to argue about its pros/cons with others.

  • I live in a country that went from Imperial control to almost fully Socialist (except for the Police, which are mostly tamed bullies) and is now rapidly progressing towards Capitalism (probably because anyone that refuses to do so, gets on the offside of US).

And PRC qualifies as neither Socialist nor Capitalist.

  • I am neither lonely, nor in a fursuit. You gotta drop the "entirely".

  • read some theory and look at real socialist practice

I live in a socialist country. And it works (well, at least better than current US).

You should go around interjecting people who say, "You won’t need to do any work and still get money" and link them to places where they can read the theory, to reduce such BS'ers.

  • if the govt is mandating something

I'd rather the govt. not go around mandating stuff that only empowers those who want to use it as an excuse for mass-AI-voyeurism.

  • The problem with socialism is that people put it as: "You won't need to do any work and still get money".And that makes the whole system sound stupid, because it just won't work that way.

Use the correct words and explain the real thing.

  • Well, I guess that makes everything other than lodging a Neutron into another Atom, as not-gay.

  • Do we know what powers the ring gives to a dwarven smith?Would he be able to find a way to escape incoming molten metal the moment he put his finger in a 2 ton steel sphere?

What if he ends up with the power to mould metal by thought? He might just manage to deform the same piece of steel and use it to prevent the molten metal from getting to him and then use it to create stilts and a shield for incoming guard attack?

Ok, maybe they can just make a cast, separately, away from the ring's influence and then get Frodo to drop the ring in the molten metal right after it part of it has been poured in.But what if the ring ends up floating or sinking during the hardening (cooling down) process, making it accessible to touch, but at the same time, hard enough to detect?

  • bored soldiers pass skills around almost as often as STDs

You just gave me a mental picture of soldiers partially clad in armour, one teaching stuff to another while engaging in gay sex.

  • You have the maker of the ring^[Shadow of Mordor]!Just make a magic furnace.

  • I have luckily 0 experience with bedbugs. And for the ceiling fan, I saw mosquitoes trying hard to go above the fan, from which they then use the currents to land right onto me.When close enough to the body, they tend to find places to hide from the currents.

That wasn't possible when the fan was at full speed (this particular one is pretty fast and I haven't seen other ceiling fans be as fast in years), but I am now unable to run it at full speed as it ends up smelling like something is burning inside which prompts me to turn it off.

  • affect any mortal programming the computer

You don't need the ring nearby when programming the computer.

  • Too risky. What if the huge lump of steel ends up having a hole (imperfection, which would be caused by the will of Sauron affecting the Dwarven workers' concentration) and someone then puts a finger in it?

  • Perhaps need more lore information before we can understand how well the Elvish guidance systems would work under the full effects of Sauron's eye, which, considering the perceived threat and opportunity (in case destabilisation of the rocket is successful), on top of the ease of application (it would be in-air, easier to pick, as compared to little ground targets moving among other landscape objects), I'd say Sauron would put full attention onto the missile.

Much easier to just find a way to build a better furnace.
