"then" is used to depict time, sequence or a causal relationship. "than" is used with comparative adjectives, to depict comparison.

The actual effects of the law are multi-staged, though.Even if FOSS ends up managing to get this load off it, this still remains a scapegoat for Apple, Google and other players in this game, which enables them to collect as much extra data as they feel like.
Now I am thinking...If a kit in California were to make a YouTube video using this OS and AG ends up not fining anyone for it, can that be used as a precedent?
AI is pretty much possible, we are thinking about it the wrong way.
We are expecting AI to have the 3 bests of both worlds.
- High I/O ability : we have that from computers
- Determinism and Correctness : computers always had a high level determinism, never correctness because a computer does not know what is correct^[this boils down to the same thing that one person once said to some computer guy - 'If I enter the wrong numbers, will I still get the correct answer?']
- Intelligence and thought : intelligence is a perception. AI will always have a lower depth of thought than us as long as it is dependent upon us
So we only get 1 best of the other world. In turn for some of this (person) world, we have to deal with 1 worst of the computer world. We lose determinism, because we rely upon the model being a higher level of fuzzy.
Of course, I don't mean "determinism" in the exact and full meaning. The LLM is still made on top of a computer, so for the same internal saved state and the same external input (including any randomising functions that might be used), the output will still be the same. But you can't get the kind of logical determinism that you expect from normal computer operations.A dumbed down example to get my thoughts across: You can use either of
a + borADD(A,B)orSUM(A:B)and will still get the same result.Instead, use the threat of starvation to hinder those who would move agains them and now you have absolute control.
If there are enough people behind it, all you need is a Non-Cooperation Movement. The regime will just leave themselves.
Except that they learnt their lesson after the last time and divided people enough and indoctrinated enough of them to make this not happen this time.
If one just does not require to use currency for everyday life, they can do this very easily.
For this, you need to have small enough independent communities that can feed and tool themselves.
- This is also why Gandhi had to die as early as possible. He had the solution and was actively popularising it.
- This is the single biggest reason why zoning was an absolute necessity (and to justify that to normal people, they required factory emissions to be unbearably high) for Governments attempting to gain full power.
To prevent creation of independent small communities, multiple levels of separation and dependence are required...
Fossil fuel reliance cannot be eliminated yet, because that would enable people to power their appliances without connecting to state controlled grid. Only after every electrical convenience becomes cloud dependent (and remotely disable-able), can sovereign electricity generation be approved. To add to that, make sure that independent electricity generation setups are as complex as possible to reduce self-repairability.
Repairability of tools, in general, needs to be controllable. Letting that go, will greatly increase the long-term sustainability of non-cooperating small-communities and keep productive and a significant threat to the government.
Communication media need to be thoroughly controlled, specially for the kind that allows discrete communication (without disturbing all non-involved parties). For this purpose, a multi-level hindrance needs to be setup.
- make devices locally non-manufacturable
- This can easily be done by making all EM frequencies that are easier to create devices for, regulated by the government
- Regulation might only be required until there are enough government resources to effectively monitor all lower frequencies
- This would be easier as the lower data rates available at these frequencies will not allow for extraordinary encryption levels
- This can easily be done by making all EM frequencies that are easier to create devices for, regulated by the government
- hinder device repairability (already explained)
- reduce expected lifetime under the guise of sophistication
- allow easy killing of devices.
- having a method to remotely brick these communication devices would reduce the requirement for expensive jammers (which might also hinder communication of govt. forces)
Destroy local workshops at all expense. Skilled labour has to be separated from their tools. The workforce can easily be given the illusion of owning their means of production with 0 threat as long as a distance barrier can be maintained from their place of eating and living. Also, keep them poor enough to be unable to afford even cheaper, lower technology tools for personal use.
- This can be done by eating away at their market by providing cheaper competing products
- The expenses for this can later be recouped by price gouging after elimination of competition. Furthermore, by reduction of costs (and quality).
Farmers need to be kept as far away from consumers of produce, as possible. This, on top of outlawing small home-farming, would make all major food usage, state-dependent, meaning that denying to cooperate with the government will ascertain starvation.
Control farm workability by first, destroying the sustainability of lower technology farming and then separating farming technology from the farmer, using aforementioned toll (control measures).[Bonus: added after relevant research opened up feasibility] Make the very base of farming, dependent upon external powers. Use GMO crops to control farm input. This way even if the farmers become willing to use extremely low technology tools to farm, they will have nothing to grow.
- implement this as soon as possible. Pit neighbouring farmers against each other, if required
- Use the terminator gene to instil the sense of non-ownership in the farmer. It can be phased out once it is popularised enough. Meanwhile look for a more cost affective method to allow termination of subsequent crops.
That doesn't seem like a solvable thingy.People tend to make stuff up, too. The difference being that the bluff is revealed in non-verbal communication.
Or failing that, just give me the fucking prompt and at least I’ll know if you understand the question.
This one's really nice. I should make this my go to response to anyone doing that.
Considering that despite going over lvl70, he decided with
Catholic Priestinstead ofSaint,WarlockorArchmage, it should already be making you question his decision making ability.I know, but it's fun to point it out. Also, one of the reasons why prefer not calling the stuff I make, "theories", even though they are made to partially fit existing information.
nice—dick
So, an AI chatbot tasked to convince people to use more AI?I'm going with that.
Turns out I came here to say the same thing as everyone.
AppImages are not in the same competition. They have different uses and you would mostly not find out how many people are using them due to their nature of being very useful offline.
Theories being randomly generated by everyone
Also that:
A hypothesis is a specific, testable prediction or explanation for a phenomenon, while a theory is a well-established framework that explains a broad range of observations and is supported by extensive evidence. Theories are generally more comprehensive and have undergone more rigorous testing than hypotheses.
Over here, people usually sell that level of stuff to some known parts dealer for pretty cheap.I am just a hoarder who has kept my last few phones hoping to some day be able to use their high quality cameras with something else.
And transfer all the pressure to your project's VCS maintainer, who is also being told by management to use AI?
At some point you need to start thinking whether the product your company wants you to make is really worth it.You might not think about it right now, but you might, by the time your company starts paying you in AI token allocation.
What kind of web app is your company making that it somehow requires you to learn and use all the new frameworks? And if you are having to learn the framework despite your product not requiring it, perhaps the priorities of your seniors are misguided or you are trying to fulfil the wrong JD (R&D perhaps? I would love such a job, but I won't be choosing JS either way).It is the job of the management the place the correct person onto the correct position and if they are making you do something that is killing you, perhaps they need to be replaced. And if you always only cared about [paying the bills, well there will soon be more bills to pay, the way we are going.
I only had to use some plain JS for my website (not a web app though) and I recently had the opportunity to remove even that.
I am always happy learning new libraries and frameworks and technical concepts even if I only end up using them just in a single project. I am learning Lua just to be able to make an extension of a game I am not sure I will be playing 5 years down the line.
But I also rid myself of everything uninteresting. I forget the names of programming concepts, design patterns and language features that I am using regularly (sometimes to my own detriment), while associating the patterns to functional requirements in my mind.
When I feel cognitive load rising, I don't think of making the task simpler, but increasing my concentration, because that's what makes the work desirable to me. And there will always be something that will require you to load your brain as long as you want to create something with emphasis to quality.Previously made processes will require reimagining the reasons behind their making and deconstructing them to create better processes. Undocumented code will have to be checked and the intent behind it be understood before checking to make sure that AI generated documentation represents the correct design. Even C++ developers moving to Rust will find out that there are more things that are not yet explicit enough and require reading and correlating to other functions in the codebase.
There has been a longstanding trend of lowering quality bars. And most of times, those lowering said bars, don't understand the implications well enough.
AI is giving more incentives to a greater variety of people to lower these bars, in favour of increasing output speed/quantity. And in turn, lowering of the quality bars is helping with proliferation of AI tools in mismatched places.
But the industry seems to have had the "quality" problem long before that.Mainly thanks to failure of people testing methodologies, which end up being cracked by those, who train primarily for the test (using courses designed to train them only for the given test) and end up being disproportionately (test vs real work) evaluated.
Combine this with failure of workplace testing methodologies and overall company quality testing, we geg what we have now.
Should we go after amazon for encouraging gambling?
Amazon should be giving a full box of SSDs to every customer buying a dingle SSD, with 100% probability.
And complementary RAM
(3) APP.—The term “app” means a software application or electronic service that may be run or directed by a user on a computer, mobile device, or any other general purpose computing device.
(4) APP STORE.—The term “app store” means a publicly available website, software application, or other electronic service that distributes and facilitates the download of an app from a third-party developer by a user of a computer, mobile device, or any other general purpose computing device.
100% sure they all come in the category of an "App Store" when convenient for the lobbyist.
Does the Court ask you?Does the legislature?Does Meta come to ask what you call an "App Store"?
2 factor authentication, only when you feel like it.
They might as well be piping the password to
/dev/null

A pretty good chance some luxury model might have been made for such a thing.Even if not normally produced, some rich guy might have had it custom made.
