  • Absolutely. I got well acquainted with the regulations. The sad part is it was so slow to update anything nothing got updated.

This system needs to be operational by next week. It will be a month before its well made. This needs to be operational by next week. Ok, but then we can fix it right?

Not to mention any changes to anything got evaluated as either a notice update, a 90 day submission, or a full submission(6 months - 2 years depending on fda, bsi and severity of change). That's in addition to the actual work. I could make a change in a afternoon and may see it in production next year.

  • I worked in medical electronic manufacturing. Changing a single setting for ease of use to the operator was planned as a 2 year project. Literally change a 0 to 1 in one of the files....

  • I preferred the no poop for 3 days thing but both are classics

  • They aren't "going to the moon" they are going around the moon. It's like saying "I'm going to the store" and just driving past the parking lot and turning around to go home.

  • I don't like reality TV but "real shark wives of the Bahamas" would epic!!

  • Also breakfast club

  • I always preferred the one with the girl falling rag doll and hitting a bunch of bubbles on the way

  • Honestly? It depends. You can make it better, if you try or make it worse if you don't. This sounds like they were not "lonely" that was just something they could blame it on.

Go do something. It doesn't really matter what. Exercise, join a rpg group, join a maker space, move to a new city, change jobs, join a group about off roading. It doesn't matter, learn to cook, learn to bake. Just do something.

Laying in bed or staring at a monitor/TV won't help. Most people will get into a mental loop of how they are bad because they don't have any real comparisons of real people. You may make mistakes but you will see other people make mistakes too.

Regarding relationships I love the quote from Jimmy Carr (yes he has dark humor and often is offensive) "don't think what you can get, think what you can provide".

  • True. Years ago(I think 2010 ish) I went to NYC comic con. Zombies were all the rage (pun intended) at the time. One of the panels I saw was "preparing for a zombie apocalypse" with a bunch of people from walking dead and a director at the cdc.

The cdc director basically made the point that you should be prepared. A zombie apocalypse is not likely/possible but if that makes you actually get prepared for an emergency go for it. You need access to fresh water, access to edible food, any medications for you or your family, a plan to escape, a place to meet up etc etc. You need those in a zombie apocalypse but you also need them in a hurricane, tornado, war, earthquake etc. All require the same things to survive, if pretending it's zombies helps you get prepared great, as long as you get prepared.

  • Yeah, I'll give you a more complete response after I go to the atm machine where I'll enter my pin number. 😜

  • True, all I'm going to say is if you look up videos on "cbt therapy" make sure to put therapy in the search and/or have safe search on, as a result I believe Mike may enjoy the splinters

  • But think of the splinters... Oh god... Think of the splinters... Mike should get hazard pay

  • Is it?

  • If you think you are bad, you are not. There is no wrong way to play and you may want to have different goals. Do you want fastest time? Smallest area? Most powerful against hoards of bugs? Conquer all planets? Science per minute? Self imposed limitations?

All are valid and all could be fun.

  • Depending on age, red vs blue is on Amazon prime just saying....

  • I guess I will just keep playing factorio. That's a game which doesn't involve any automatic generation involving intelligence ... Wait... Fuck!

    /s

To be clear I don't think factorio has any Gen Ai. It does have a lot of automation, a lot of generation and requires a lot of intelligence. I thought it was just a clever bit of word play.

    FACTORY MUST GROW!!

  • Maybe she took off with the fridge handle and they now live together and thinking about getting a dog...

/s hope it's not a painful wound to poke fun at.

  • Dylan bettle talks about this in one of his presentation. He made a website that did actor and actress recommendations, I believe for like extras to be hired. They kept getting alerts around 7-715am and then around 12.30pm to 1245pm.

Eventually they figured out that casting agents typically woke up, checked email, and submitted the requests on the website. The actors and actresses typically had other jobs and had to wait till lunch to check and apply.

They had to redesign the system and buy more bandwidth to handle these spikes.

He's a great presenter and I highly recommend watching all of them, even if you're not a programmer. And I probably got most of the details wrong... But it was a talk at one of NDC conventions.

  • Look our ancestors drew an imaginary line on a map. I was born on this side and you were born on that of that line, ipso facto I am better than you.
