Off to a non-US instance. Goodbye, and thanks for all the fish.

  • Ubuntu or one of its variants

Even Mint? Seems to be the go-to recommendation for newbies.

  • Linux From Scratch or Slackware too.

  • OK

  • It's an at-scale company, orders came from way above. As did RTO after 2 years full-at-home, etc, etc.

  • Atm main sys is a ZFS RAIDZ1 on 3 SSDsWeekly-ish backup onto 1TB external HDD.Sync encrypted important stuff to Cloud.Syncthing some stuff to smartphone.

  • Meanwhile the dev gets an i5.Can't really complain on an i7 with 32 GiB though, but had to struggle for those extra 16 GiB and to get an 1TB SSD.

  • Was Minority Report a documentary too?

  • Surprised Pikachu face.

  • As legally required. Any company that wants to operate aboveboard needs to comply with local law - that includes Proton.

  • Proton's CEO seems to be a right-wing jackass.

  • Tuta. Regardless of email provider, chose one that lets you use your own domain - that way it's easier to change providers.

  • AFAIK postmrketOS is a linux distro, whereas you're asking about Android - different kernels and different OSes.Search for tech specs on the devices themselves. Try to use adb shell on Android devices and see if uname -a returns anything. There are surely other ways.

  • I would quit, immediately.

Pay my bills. Thanks.I've been dusting off the CV, for multiple other reasons.

  • Thanks for the reply, i've seen those patterns as well, kinda sad.

  • being run by one person on the edge of burnout. See curl, xy, etc.

While Stenberg is the main developer, he's not the sole developer not does he seem to be on the edge of burnout.

  • Tanna is relatively fortunate – his employer gives him four hours a month to work on the project.

4 full hours?! Wooooow, what a benevolent employer! /s

  • bring out the ol’ “fuck you, no.”

    fork(u)

  • I was gonna say, if you want formally verifiable, you'd have to go Ada.
