"No need for bombs when hate will do" ~ Ulysses

  • Honestly, for the better. Most of those prepper types have some fucked up/nasty ideas on how to treat civilization after they emerge from their bougie apocalypse man-caves.

Honestly the best advice is to just keep moving.

  • Most of them will die.

Fire and/or air-blockage kills bunkers quick.

  • Now you gotta search for pink dye..

  • Could dye one!

    It is ushanka season

  • He successfully gave the Malawi Army and Malawi Young Pioneers opposing missions in Mozambique from 1987 to 1992.

Obviously farming XP to upgrade units. The fuck?

  • How would one do "noise"?

  • Agreed. Hexbear isn't bad nor is it full of bad people.

From a few comments below, there are a few unresolved threads left which is worrying for another bullshit-event of this caliber.

  • This too. The serious platform shit is not happening. You scroll down to the bottom of Hexbear, click a link and you get a picture of a pig pooping on it's own balls.

The entire space is literally synonymous with that. The Pig Poop Balls Vanguard isn't gonna be a thing.

  • My take?

It's all dumb. Admins didn't communicate effectively, made changes without making most of the community aware of it on a timescale that should have been days; as most of these discussions should be. A good chunk of the community is irate. Random bans are a method of obfuscation, all though I am doubting that's actually what is happening here.

Regardless, it is a website and we have this space here.

TC69 immediately sets off red flags for me. It's one thing to return and welcome yourself back; but the passive language they're using suggests that they view themselves as some sort of cult of personality figure already, reinforcing the thoughts some have about that concern. The "random number ban" thing is literally just a flex of power, joking or not. I've seen that happen so, so many times in communities. It's the same thing as "Who wants to get a bop on the head from my baton?". Sure, it's a joke.

There are already quite a few complaining about moderation style from times past and upon immediate return they make a comment on how the "website has improved" yet still needs an entire overhaul/COC. REgon, usa_suxxx is banned, all though unsure if that is changed now. Also, the thread was locked on that discussion.

It's all just red flags. Maybe it'll be a good thing, maybe not. To me, Hexbear did a really good job already on cracking down on shitlibs and misogynistic fucks. Where the hell is this rampant offenses occurring? I don't doubt we have some idiots wander in and that things were worse before, but this is being treated like we have an active crisis in Hexbear. Which, I don't really get.

If I'm wrong, I'll be happy to be wrong and I'll be more understanding of TC69's more heavy-handed approach to moderation. But is there like some mass DM-harassment campaign I'm unaware of?

  • Yeah, I don't know why people frame this as a leftist thing. It might happen more, but it's not unique.

For the older folks out there; you have seen this sort of thing happen on MMORPGs certainly. In my anecdote, it happened to me in real life with a debate club I was in when I was younger lmao.

  • It's been very nice. I missed my blue.

  • I agree. What I more so meant is that it's pretty blatant with that kind of "transparency".

  • Al Gore...it's time.

    #StealBackTheSteal

  • Fair. Any poll is absolutely suspect. The right-wing shift in national politics is absolutely noticeable though. Objectively...I think Obama was a little less "right" than Dick Cheney (by a little less I mean like an inch/inch and a half) but at the same time here is dick cheney now endorsing democrats and trying to get George W. Bush on board. But you could be right.

  • In a weird way, it forms a sort of "inclusivity" that is fiercely defended. It works to keep the worst out, but we do make mistakes. Even the best immune systems do that. At the same time, this does create a good safe-space for one, for two it also creates a sort of "cryptic appeal" that I've noticed amongst newer members. I felt the same.

Seeing the "cryptic appeal" was that there are people so passionate, so caring and quickly take up to this place was inspiring for me as someone who's been a commie but never heard of this place. To newer people, I can see the appeal; if they aren't already poisoned by propaganda.

A lot of these libs really do be drive-bying. Like I said, it's just so hard to determine who is interested in actually discussing anything or just leaving a shitty comment. I hear you though, no worries.

  • Blockchain ledger? Yeah, don't think you're actually going to be able to follow the money there. What an odd choice to focus on that for a up and coming leftist party.

  • I don't snap at libs very often (twice since the election, which I'll explain); which was the point of me bringing up my other civil conversation. Specific things like that make me want to, it's just that post-election tensions have been running high and I've pretty much been filled with hatred at some of the fair-weather dems. I also had a few friends who went full scratch (one literally sent me a stonetoss meme) so the noticeable right-ward shift that I've seen just has me on edge. I was vitriolic and venomous, I get it and I do apologize about that.

I could be wrong too, maybe it is someone who might see more left-leaning views in the future. God knows I used to say dumb shit (14 year old lolbertarian at one point), but looking back now I'm also glad I had people to voice their abject disgust or tell me to fuck off instead of trying to make it seem acceptable by "negotiating" or "tolerating" it. That's just me though, I can see your point otherwise.

It's really hard to tell who actually means genuine or someone who is just a scratched lib brown-shirt doing a drive-by. So many out there.

In terms of squandering organization; I don't think so. I'll calm down probably after today and I'll go back to posting memes, content pieces, etc. In real life I've been getting to know my community, or at least the neighbors around me, more and more and have reconnected with a few friends who've been curious about alternatives post-election; which has been a surprising feeling. Like I've said, I've had more success with clueless trumpers than I've had with ignorant, smug liberals who are going full fourth reich post-election.

  • It's partially both in my experience. Depends on where you are. Suburban/rural Gen Z really are leaning more conservative; statistics will show that right-wing ideologues are on the rise in younger generations.

At the same time, it's also an age thing. Plenty of people develop at 14-16 politically. Some do it at 20. Some do it at 25. There are some 22 year olds I know now who are just beginning to actually think about politics.

  • Fair enough I suppose. I've had quite a few hostile experiences as of recent; my bad for bringing them over. Not sure why you perceive it as a "cool and hip" thing though, I was having a relatively decent conversation, as I said, with another lib. There are some I can stomach, some I can't. Satirical racism, as a joke, is something I can choose to not associate myself with...better yet, I can get really fucking pissed at it. Same thing with those who defend it; because the whole thing...like the whole post (in unethicallifetips) even if it's MEANT to be a joke or not is still really fucking gross.

So, I think I can at least get real fucking pissed at that. But understandably, I did have a bit of venom to it. Also. They literally came in being hostile "To the brilliant..."
