I'm a lot of things, but not a Velociraptor

  • You can always go pay 2-3x and buy one from ebay... it's super convenient and you also pay them the shipping!

    /s

  • Whenever I'm not sure if I'll like a game and it doesn't have a demo, I pirate it, try how it is and then decide. If I like it, I buy it. If I don't I delete it and go on with my life.

This is only for the games I'm not sure I want to buy, if there's a game I want, I buy it directly. But just to save the process of refunding, I prefer pirating to try in the absence of demos.

  • Aaaaaaaand Europe is gone too.

  • Oh wait... that's an airplane? I thought it was a train. Looked to me like the high-speed trains we have around.

  • You can't smoke, but nobody said you can't bring a lighter with you... Specially those that look like a jet engine spitting fire.

  • Nope. Italy here: we had 3-5 days at first, a while ago it changed to 6-10. Not sure if that will change again or if we'll go out of stock before that.

  • Which region are you from? In Italy it's available (although the shipping time went from 3-5 days to 6-10).

  • I checked the page 2 mins earlier and was already purchasable. I managed to get it at 02, I got it probably with the first batch. Yay!

  • "No. You're dumb. I refuse to elaborate further."

That's the only answer you should give them. More than that is wasted time.

  • This is not the history my family told me...

  • That's oddly specific Janine, do you have to tell us anything?

  • I can’t tell if he’s actively making impossibly stupid decisions on purpose, or if he just saw Putin’s egotistical meat grinder in Ukraine and decided he wanted one too. Maybe he’ll threaten to invade China after he realizes how many exotic materials we import from them.

There's a third option: he is actively trying to destroy the US from the inside so the epstein class can then buy everything for pennies.

At a certain point, you really start asking yourself about it. Even the dumbest one will eventually do something right, but to do the wrong thing every single time requires intent.

  • One of the weirdest must be Final Fantasy XIV community.

On the one hand, they are a bunch of the nicest people you'll find. I've seen several wow refugees coming and getting surprised because there's actual etiquette in dungeons: You don't vote-kick a disconnected player unless 10-15 minutes have passed because they could come back. And people take care of sprouts (newbies), like, really. If there's a dungeon with a new player (a popup says there's a newbie but doesn't say who is it), people give tips about bosses and how to tackle everything. And if there's a plot twist (there's a HUGE ONE in Endwalker's final boss battle), nobody will spoil it.

They have also... Limsa. A city you have to experience to understand. It's weird, but in the cool sense of the word.

But... on the other hand... The hardcore raider subcommunity has to be one of the worst gang of crybabies ever. JFC they whine about everything. Never satisfied, extremely elitist...

  • "There is a monster among us"? You mean like among the police? A monster?

Do you have an idea of how little that narrows things down?

  • Yeah, but let's get to the worst case scenario: A bunch of assholes star generating images like crazy. They manage to create some million images of innocent people. So many images that xitter can't pay the fine, get dissolved and that's all.

Meanwhile, millions of people have pornographic deepfakes of them on the internet, FOREVER.

No. We can't wait for that to happen, xitter needs to close the technology before the first image puts them in trouble.

  • They need to fear the first image generated, not the 1000th one.

If a user generates 1 pic a minute, in a day he generates 1440 pics, that means potentially 1440 people hurt by a single asshole in a day.

I don't care how much it will cost to xitter, I care for how much will those people suffer.

Xitter needs to be worried that a single user generates one image, not that a bunch of assholes generate some thousands or even a million images because for each image, there's gonna be a person (or more) suffering.

  • I think it's about time we stop considering israelians as jewish.

They are zionists, not jewish. And they are saying this themselves: the moment you oppose the genocide in Gaza, you are antisemitic? No dude, nowhere in the Torah says that Israel is entitled to a genocide. If opposing a genocide makes me anti-semitic, then either you are not a real jew or all the jews opposing your genocide aren't real jews and I'm inclined to say that those opposing your genocide (because they fucking suffered one) are the true real jews.

So yeah, I'm fine with jews coming here, because that excludes israelians.

  • And this company's revenue is in the billions per year. BILLIONS. A 500k fine is not even spare change for them, is literally a rounding error. It's as if when you go buy groceries, they round up a $0.95 price to $1.

That for a fucking CSAM picture.

  • So, if maths on a sunday morning don't fail me, for a person making 100k yearly, that's a $625 fine more or less. A slap in the wrist and a kiss in the forehead.
