  • Why aren't you thinking about experience? Whatever you do, and however much you succeed or fail, the point is to enjoy yourself and learn from your mistakes. Life takes a long ass fucking time, you will suffer, you will succeed, there will be pain and happiness. You will feel like you wasted your life and you will feel like you're on top of the world. Just try to be true to yourself.

    And ripping people off is only done through lying and deceiving. If you give your customers the space to say no, and a fair time to compare your prices to others, you can ask whatever you want. That has nothing to do with ripping people off. Market value is market value. Which is just as high as people are willing to pay. It's up to you to find a good balance between the amount of time you have and the market value. There is nothing wrong with undercharging or overcharging. It all depends on how much time you have.

    You're not going to be a millionaire, you're not going to make it big, your life is going to be a boring struggle like everyone else's. There is no 'American dream', it's all fake, stop clinging to it. Do things you enjoy, you have ambition to get good at, find out what motivates you, stay humble, stay human.

  • Building a business takes time. 10-15 years. That's just the reality of starting a business in anything.

    It's absolutely doable to start in practically any branch and make a living. But it actually takes effort.

    There has never been a business model that involves little effort, besides gambling and getting lucky.

  • More rubber on the road means more grip. As the weight and corner speeds increase, you need more of it.

    In adverse conditions, wet, mud, you need profile on your tires to channel the water while keeping rubber on the road and maintaining grip. Wider tires make up for the rubber lost in grooves.

    More grip also means more resistance. So there is always a balancing act between the grip you need and the resistance you can put up with.

  • People who "cross the T's and dot the I's" in their hand writing, how do you visualize a word when you write?

  • When I'm doing calligraphy, the letters are made out of building blocks. And I deliberately look over my work to check if I missed something somewhere.

    In handwriting I keep track of the t's, j's and i's and strike those when the word is finished. We also have ¨ above some letters sometimes which I also keep track of. I never forget, it's unreadable when I forget. That's how you know, when you read the word and it doesn't read right.

    I also drilled my signature, I don't think about it, it's just a fluid motion.

  • Realistically there would be fox news blasting propaganda on how much the country is going into debt to fund the madness. "People are going to the doctor for everything now! Back in my days when we fell with our bike we put a plaster on it, we didn't burden the healthcare system with a few scrapes. Our mom gave a kiss on it and we'd be okay. A kid on our block Jimmy broke gis arm once and his mom did surgery on the kitchen table. But now? What do you think putting a plaster on by a doctor costs? 500 dollars. Yes, that's right. It's madness, Trump would have never stood for this, God bless his soul. We had it good under him. Now look. Wars, famine, heat waves, our economy is in shambles! And why? People don't live like they do no more, sad. Do you wish we could go back sometimes? I do. I sit on my front porch and I wonder... what would life be if our great leader would still be here with us.   • Why does it seem when people quit smoking years later they get lung cancer or some sorts of cancer? Like alcoholic's quit drinking and usually die of something they'd die of while drinking?

    Yes you can ironically get lung cancer after you've quit smoking. But more people stay healthy for longer when they quit.

    And yes high alcohol consumption is devastating. Any amount is carcinogenic, there is no safe lower limit. Drinking heavily as an adult is a serious health risk, with lasting impact. Not drinking is always healthier than drinking. Quitting is always beneficial.

    The stories of people dying of lung cancer after quitting and liver failure after quitting drinking, are mostly told by people that smoke and drink, as an excuse to not have to quit.

    It is true that elected officials represent people, they were chosen to do so. Losing your representation is actually kind of a big deal, and it should be a big deal.

    A soldiers job is to avoid death while it's on their heels. It's heroic, it's hard, it's a complicated profession with a lot of moral dilemmas. You're only on the good side if you win.

    We're constantly bombarded by the propaganda that we're on the good side. And weeping over its defenders in the military is a great public way of communicating that you also believe this is the good side.

  • Was a cab driver. A relatively famous singer stepped in. Said where he needed to go, didn't say a word otherwise. It was a 5 minute drive. I stopped, said.. that'll be 15 euros. Or something like that. And got hit with the 'dont you know who i am?' I answered, "Well 'his name' , Im 'my name' and you need to pay".
