It's strictly multiplayer but it's also a PvE game and the community is generally pretty great at helping out new players. There isn't much toxicity in my 200ish hours of experience, come across the occasional troll that team kills but the host can boot people so they get kicked pretty fast. It is more fun with friends, but I probably have around half my playtime just playing with randoms and I always have a great time.

Definitely recommend giving it a shot!

Tourists are annoying AF especially cause they don't know the local roads and they end up slowing down all traffic because of that. Fuck 'em. I just wanna get home after work in a timely manner, hate being stuck behind some ancient murican that doesn't know their way around town.

Man I feel this, I've dropped 4 whole belt notches over the last 6 months and it's crazy to look down at myself and not see my belly sticking out and feeling my moobs shrink noticeably 😂

I was never fat but I was definitely an unhealthy weight and it severely affected my confidence. I'm 5 10 and I probably dropped from 220-230ish to around 190-200ish. Idk exactly cause I've been scared of those asshole weight scales for a while now 😂

All I did was stop ordering take out every week, and stop making huge meals an hour or two before bed and replaced it with eggs and toast 3-4 hours before bed and I've been losing a ton of weight. Also replaced pop and juice with water as well. Literally no other change in my otherwise unhealthy lifestyle.

Tbh if I wasn't basically a functional alcoholic I would probably be in great shape if I wasn't drinking so much liquid calories. But my life sucks and it's how I cope. I make it to work on time and put in a good shift, but I still have a lot I can improve on.

Counter-point - Bugs Bunny and the Looney Toons in general were peak cartoon. It was old even when I was a kid (32 now) but I loved it as a kid and I still love it now. Timeless humor.

Gonna preface this by saying I'm obviously a huge Expanse fan so my opinion is definitely biased. My username is a character from The Expanse and I consider it both my favorite TV show and book series ever. Wanted to make that clear up front.

That being said, if the game is good and they eventually replace the slop assets with proper assets, then what does it matter? As much as I like Lemmy, the hardline stances the community tends to take pisses me off at times. "Oh you're not a full blown communist and haven't read Marx? You're no better than a nazi you filthy shitlib"

Or regarding "AI" (hate that they called it that, it's basically just a smarter auto correct thats existed in smartphone keyboards for years now) anyone that doesn't automatically and passionately hate AI or any of its uses is automatically demonized as a supporter of big tech. Don't get me wrong, I fucking hate 90% of what "AI" does and is used for, especially how corpos are using it as an excuse to lay off real people and how dumbasses are relying on it as pure truth when it constantly hallucinates bullshit. I don't support "AI" and I can't wait for the bubble to burst.

There's almost zero nuance here, it's 90% "you're with us or you're against us" with no room for anything in between.

If the game is good and they replace the slop assets with real assets when it's released next year then who fucking cares that they used AI, what matters is whether the game is good or not and whether the devs are treated and paid well. Expedition 33 used AI in earlier iterations and it all got replaced with real assets eventually but that didn't stop Lemmy from shitting on one of the best games (IMO) to come out within the last decade once that became public.

You wanna make this place a more mainstream alternative to big tech controlling everything? Get off your high horse and accept that there's nuance to everything, it's not just black and white. Otherwise this place will continue to scare off new users faster than it can gain them. I consider myself to be a progressive, I'm Canadian and I've only voted NDP since I was able to vote and I'm now 32. I also really respect AOC, Mamdani, and Sanders in the states, so I'm already close enough to the target demographic of Lemmy if you exclude the tankie trifecta (ml, hexbear, and grad) and even I get sick of the circlejerk here at times.

Judge something when you can actually have a proper opportunity to do so rather than getting preemptively pissed off because they had the audacity to use something you don't like.

If the game comes out and still has slop in it and/or just sucks in general, then yeah, shit on it all you want, and I'll be first in line to join the club cause I absolutely love The Expanse and I'll be immensely disappointed if it turns out bad.

Again, in the interest of honesty and transparency, I usually prefer to just throw my opinions out there and not read or respond to replies when it's something that I know is gonna be controversial so I won't be replying to anyone that replies to this comment. I really hate arguing with random people on the internet so I just ignore replies for the most part.

The off sales near my house recently added this, why tf would I tip when you're grabbing a 6 pack that's 2 steps away from the window? Gtfo with that shit. Tipping is for quality service in a sit down restaurant or for a delivery driver bringing me something cause I'm too lazy or drunk to do it myself.

Even then, tipping should be abolished and business owners should simply pay a proper fuckin wage instead of using customers to subsidize their profits.

I still have to work tomorrow because we had a cold snap of -30 and below and I ended up missing 3 days because the vehicle wouldn't start even though it was plugged in 😭 Battery has since been replaced so it shouldn't happen again though.

On the bright side at least I have the option of making up some valuable hours on Saturday instead of just being shit outta luck. Life's too expensive to be missing work sadly.

Man, 10 years ago all I needed was a toke to have fun watching movies/TV, playing games, or listening to music. Then it slowly changed to booze that did that for me. Now neither do it for me and I don't even like smoking anymore tbh. It just makes me feel anxious and let's my bad thoughts run rampant and now I just drink to numb myself to how shitty my life is.

I'm 32 and still living with my mom because it's too fucking expensive to live alone and I don't really have anyone I trust enough to be a roommate. Living with randoms sounds like hell, I don't want a repeat of being 14 and having a shit ton of rules like "no friends allowed, no SO's allowed, no noise after 8pm" etc while also paying 1k+ CAD.

That being said, this is a comm for people to ask legit questions and there are better places if you want to meme. Any actual answers? This whole thread embodies one of the main things I hate about reddit. Everyone thinks they're a comedian when none of the "jokes" are even remotely funny.
