  • I mean Chrischan got trolled into incest and possibly into thinking they were trans by multiple people engaging in targeted psychological abuse. I doubt it is conscious but that's not necessarily a solid data point when it's very possible for a vulnerable person to be manipulated in that way by malicious people.

Using spreadsheets during dbt taught me a really solid framework for the underlying concepts, but I'm finding that on a long-term day-to-day basis, a richer spiritual practice is more sustainable.

  • I have no idea how to take this comment.

  • I recently made a comment that "the sun and stars being holes in the fabric of the celestial sphere through which the light of heaven shines through" is a really weird way to describe gravity wells in the fabric of spacetime emotion emitting the energy of solar fusion that created the elements we're all made of but that was mostly a joke and not directly inspired by you.

  • I mean (many of) the earliest Bibles were in Coptic (which is still used liturgically by some of the oldest Orthodox churches). Christianity also really inherited that form of dualism more from the Zoroastrians so Avestan is another great option. But if you want to come from the Judaic roots yeah babylon was the origin of the major opposing deities in Judaism's early monolatrist perspective so especially if you're fighting the Abrahamic God with Baal that would be your main pick.

Side Rant: It really cannot be overstated how much the Catholic church really fucked up Christianity. It was originally a syncretistic anti imperialist death cult (in that you would martyr yourself by publicly accepting death over imperialism). If I ever got a time machine Athanasius of Alexandria is much higher on my list than Hitler. It's not even that I'm specifically opposed to trinitarianism—the number three does seem significant to some universal truth across numerous cultures (Plato's chariot, Taoist three elements of destiny, even Freud to name a few)—but killing people en masse over it is unspeakable. And to have subsequent traditions who were supposedly otherwise anti-catholic in any other respect still specifically follow in the tradition of murder for some reason is ridiculous.

  • I would give my life's savings if you were able to give me 101% certainty that you would turn all Jeff bezos properties that he owns or any company of his owns literally countrywide into homeless shelters and make him live in a 2 bed 2 bath in the suburbs because that would also mean if I lost my job I would have somewhere to go and that's already more certainty of safety than my life currently has.

  • worse oversensitivity actually I think I need to try the TENS on them and see what happens. I have a neuropathic toe I've been meaning to do too.

  • ADHD brains require more dopamine and norepi to point the neurons in the right direction at the right times. You can add those in a number of ways that all have different side effect profiles and different likelihoods of worsening the root problem / causing dependence, or even ultimately destabilizing the disorder in the long run entirely.

Stimulants in general (caffeine, nicotine, cocaine, amphetamines) will all boost the chemicals an ADHD brain needs to focus right the hell now. They also have to be used super carefully because they can cause hypertension, heart problems, dependence, and psychosis. Cocaine and nicotine in particular also cause extra heart problems and in the case of nicotine Cancer.

A lot of people also take them too close to bedtime because it's the only way they know how to hold still long enough to fall asleep, but because they're still stimulants they fuck up the rest of the circadian rhythm once the person is asleep and greatly worsen the underlying ADHD (if you have this problem ask your doctor what OTHER / nonstimulant medications you can take for ADHD at night because there are better options).

Personally I don't even take my non stimulant SNRI Strattera at night because while it's not acting directly on norepi it IS acting on the reuptake inhibitor, so I take clonidine at night.

  • I finally revamped the tree of life diagram for the index of my notebook on esoteric spiritual traditions. Every element is clickable / tappable and goes to a different place in the obsidian notebook:

  • I came to a lot of peace with my childhood when I came to the realization that Christianity was at it's best when it was syncretist. The Christians who I was able to get along with as a kid were always the ones my parents said weren't real Christians because they "denied the divinity of Jesus" by not being trinitarian. They always spoke very poorly of the western mystery traditions and it was easy to see their viewpoint because they're both graduate degree engineers so of course it was only logical. Realistically the people they were talking shit about were the ones who actually understood the point and weren't in it to feel superior to other people. Now I have tarot cards too and it's lit.

  • My (shorter) answer: the same reason the Romans called both Isis and Aphrodite Venus (and they tried to roll Jesus into Dionysus / Bacchus interestingly enough).

  • Still fundamentally linked to the estimate of Christ's birth by Dionysius Exiguus, just with an added +10000. To fully unlink that you'd have to find a date that far back or father to link year 0 to that you're sure about and the farther back you go the harder that is.
