  • I don't think that Norway is one of the countries that look the other way when it comes to DMCA requests (which are only valid under US law), but they aren't required to. However, what I would do is go ahead and then wait for the DMCA request. I think you could then decide what action to take going forward.

    You could provide links to YouTube, SoundCloud, Qobuz and loads more like ReverbNation (mainly for new/upcoming artists), with links to online tools for downloading etc.

    Or something like Radio4000

    or

    HearThis.at

  • I think that some Oppo's have removable batteries, and I know EU law comes into effect in 2027 where all phones sold in the region, have to have removable batteries, also the batteries have to be accessible for years after the product leaves the market.

    I don't think the X9 has a removable battery, and while it is easy to remove, you couldn't just swap it out for another, which is a pity, even though it has a large capacity.

    Which is crazy, because if they want their phones to be professional photographers everyday camera, then they should act like photographers cameras.

    As for SD cards, you can buy USB sticks that you can plug into your phone and transfer the photos that way, Or the same type of sticks with card readers.

    Not the best options, but seemingly the only options for now.

    Or an alternative option is Immich. Self host it and supply your own storage. But still requires network access to transfer, so if you're somewhere remote, not a great option.

  • That's what the article linked is about. it was rejected, but Google, meta, snap etc.. said that they're going to scan anyway.

  • Despite the general and indiscriminate scanning of people’s messages not being legal in the EU

    Google, Meta, Microsoft, and Snap have already signaled in a joint statement to “continue to take voluntary action on our relevant Interpersonal Communication Services.” Whether this indicates continued scanning of our private communication is not entirely clear, but what is clear is that such activity would now risk breaching EU law. Then again, lack of compliance with EU data protection and privacy rules is nothing new for big tech in Europe.

    It is utterly insane that any company thinks that they can ignore laws from at least two different continents and not only think they will get away with it, but are getting away with it, and doing it so blatantly, impetuously and with impunity.

  • Our elected officials fail to grasp or care, what the electorate actually want.

    it's more likely the latter, as they know most will forget when it comes to the next election.

  • I'm not listening to, nor clicking on any video links you post. Musical taste is subjective, so it wouldn't matter if I like or don't like any song that you like. isn't that the whole point of the competition?

    Olympics -> irrelevant

    Russia -> already banned

    Israel committing genocide -> The EBU have a moral and ethical obligation to step in.

    Avoiding it, and ignoring a campaign that is only gaining traction, will not do them any favours. As previously mentioned, it's equivalent to condoning the murdering of thousands of children and tens of thousands of innocent people going about their daily lives.

    There is no place in such a competition where the slogan is "United by music".

  • This article describes his thoughts and his opinions on Israel best. He seems to have clammed up since then.

  • I don't know what your hard on about the Olympics is. But anyway, as mentioned, the politics aren't coming into it here. The organisers have a moral and ethical decision to make. Most people don't want to listen to the music representing a country that is committing genocide, and most wouldn't be able to, without being reminded of what's going on.

    The EBU are condoning what is happening by ignoring it.

  • Incorrect because Eurovision should not be political.

    It's not about politics, Morally and ethically, allowing an Israeli representative to dance around the stage and sing while their country has killed thousands of innocent people, starved over 2 million, started illegal wars, used illegal weapons, has their current leader wanted for war crimes is condoning all of that. They have banned participants for much, much less. They have already had to change the rules once due to Israels suspected cheating anyway, so think of this as the ban that should have happened years ago.

  • Yes, that was my point. You're flip flopping back to the point somebody else made to you above. in any case, 5 countries are not in the competition so that a genocidal regime country can partake. if the EBU allows them to continue in the competition, they are condoning the murdering of children and thousands of innocent people.

    That's not political.

  • A load of non-Europeans campaigned that a non-European genocidal regime country should partake in a European competition that has lost 5 of it's European countries because the genocidal regime country is partaking in it.

  • That's not the flex you think it is.

    You choosing to vocalise your taste in music over your stance on genocide, especially considering you plan on not watching it anyway ...

  • 5 countries have already boycotted the competition because of them.

  • 80% of Russian population lives in the European part of Russia. but only about (roughly) 25% of Russia is in Europe.

    Israel just have a hold over the EBU.

    They're also in the euros (football) which is something else that they should be kicked out of.
